Hello,

Whenever I try to install either a DLC or Mod for DAO using daupdater.exe it gives me this error:

Error: Couldn't get list details from manifest.xml

Now what exactly does that mean ? I tried a few tricks I found here and there in the forums, like changing regional settings to US, and using DAmodder for installing mods, but none of them worked so far. I could get some of the DLC "installed" but in the downloaded/installed content part nothing shows up, and in-game nothing seems to installed. Any ideas ?

What results did you get following HemisH's guide to DLC Problems, pinned as a sticky at the top?   Warning: waiting for an answer will probably be fruitless.  The game is getting fairly long in the tooth (elderly), so interest was falling off, now it is summer, and the outdoor world beckons.  There just isn't much of anyone around, and won't be until late September or early October.

Beside the array of pinned stickies, almost any problem that is possible has probably already occurred.  This was a very popular game, with millions of of buyers, and tens of thousands of forum members passing through.  The archives will be your very best source of help from now until the cool weather returns.  Just ignore the official Search tool, which is broken, has always been broken, and has no apparent priority for repair.

Use Google or Yahoo, with a site redirector:

Yes I understand what you say, but it's getting annoying not having been able to experince the game at it's full content. Same thing happened to me in NVN2, I could not able to launch it's Toolset on my PC no matter what I did, and believe me, I tried. And I started playing DAO and started having problems with this game as well. My system can run almost any game without problems, (System summary: Win7 Pro 64-bit, QuadCore 2.50Ghz, Nvidia GTS250 1GB GPU, 4GB RAM) new and old games as well (including really old games that incompability issues are expected).

Aside from DLCs, I can't even install user made mods (even simple ones), which I enjoy greatly using mods either made by others or by myself, they are a must for any RPG I believe.

But I don't know what to do now, I checked that sticky thread but couldn't find a solution. That error doesn't seem to be on that list. However, many people claim to fix it by changing their regional settings to US, I did the same, but still updater gave me the same error. If I had any idea what the error message mean, I could try to produce some ideas to fix it, maybe search on the internet a little more successfully.

Can't you just install DLC in game? It's really easy to buy and download DLC in game. And what mods exactly are you wanting to install? Most of them are a simple case of dragging and dropping in the overide folder rarther than using DAupdater
