If so, that's great.
But i don't see the need for her dress almost exactly like Samara(except for a small color difference) unless she's been made a justicar.

My guess is that ME3 will have 8 companions, with maybe 2 more as DLC.

Confirmed already

1)Ash/Kaidan
2)Liara
3)Garrus
4) Vega
5) Tali

That leaves 3-5 spots open still. The question is who will get those last few spots.


Miranda - could return, has history with Cerberus and they will play a big part in ME3. However, she could be indoctrinated like all of the other Cerberus operatives.

70% I think she will return

Jacob - Not a fan fav, but same thing as Miranda. He has history with Cerberus, could also be indoctrinated. Doubt he's a companion.

20% chance he returns


Jack - Not really a fan, but she does have a fanbase, and the devs like her.Not sure how her story would play out.

40% chance

Mordin - Fan favorite, imo the best new character in ME2. Has been hinted at as already only being a temporary companion.


Grunt - The crew needs a Krogan, Grunt makes the most sense because he has nowhere else to go. Would rather have Wrex back, but doubt that happens.

50% chance


Thane - He was said to be dying. ME3 takes place several months after ME2. Thane by all rights should be dead, or on the verge of death. Could see him dying early on in ME3, while saving Shep.

20% chance

Kasumi/Zaeed - both have already been ruled out.

Legion - fan fav, the Geth vs Quarian story seems to play a major role in the game. Could see him returning. But he has been hinted as only being a cameo.

65% chance






So I'll say Miranda makes it and maybe Legion. The last 2 spots will be new companions.

My humble opinion:

The reason Vega is there is to replace Ash if she is dead, so we have a soldier slot filled. Liara is there for the same reason if kaidan dies (and because of plot armor), so a biotic slot filled.

Garrus should NOT be returning unless is LI (and if he dares to return either way I will kill him in the SM).
Thane should NOT be returning unless he is LI.
Jacob should NOT be returning unless he is LI.
Tali should NOT be returning unless she is LI.
Miranda should NOT be returning unless she is LI.
Jack should NOT be returning unless she is LI.

This is a simple matter of equal opportunities for all LI's and a makes sense because they can all die. It would be totally unbalanced having all 6 or zero. The difference between 1 and zero is minimal and makes sense for this matter to romance a character in me2 -> you get a bonus squadmate for me3.

DLC characters like Zaeed and Kasumi shouldn't even appear in the game since you may just skip those dlcs entirely in me2. Stop asking for Kasumi and Zaeed LI in me3 because it doesn't make ANY SENSE.

The other character slots I have no idea.

I'm thinking we'll see something more along the lines of a rotating squad, where you might have X squaddies to choose from for each mission, but you won't be pulling from the same pool every time. So we might have just VS/Vega for the first handful of missions, then it becomes apparent that Cerberus is a threat, and we join up with Miranda/Jacob for several missions, and so on and so forth.

I think Garrus and Tali might be forced on us if they survied.

I really don't like Garrus so I might have to kill him off in the suicide mission.

Tali hates me and she survived the mission I will facepalm if she wants bak on the squad in ME3

This is logical and probably the only way to make as many people happy as possible.

I think that Vega's class will change depending on the VS. If Ash is dead he will be a soldier, and is Kaidan is dead then he's a sentinel. That means that everybody has a Soldier, Adept and Sentinel Squad Member.

I also think that we'll be getting three other new characters: An Engineer, an Infiltrator and a Vanguard. This means that even if everyone died in the Suicide mission you still have one of every class, at least.

Miranda should definitely be back. She's basically the most important squadmate in ME2, she's Shepard's XO, it's difficult to kill her in the suicide mission and she's got a big fanbase. The connection to Cerberus is important too.

I found Aria very intersting. I thought she would make a great squad mate and her personality is very strong. So she is a good idea for a love interest for Shephard. I'd like to see Aria as a squad mate and a potential love interest in Mass Effect 3
