So many, many moons ago, I fell into a world of magic and knights and decieving paladins and a whole host of other threats to my life and kingdom!
Over many days I searched the lands far and wide, conquered evil villains, solved mysteries and discovered vast treasure... but alas... the world became closed off to me.
As with the passage of time, I long now for those old days of glory. The days when a man could test his mettle by testing his metal and finally, the doors to that world have been reopened!
Now the question remains - where do I start?
Part of me thinks I will run through the vanilla campaign and expansions and come back and get some modules downloaded, but perhaps there are simple modules that would make my initial play through more fun and enjoyable... and suggestions?
Where to re-begin?

assuming you are action player then either Shadow Mountains (if you dont mind its short on players) or Higher Grounds.
Maybe The Three Towns too, all are persistent worlds, myself dont play SP modules so cant suggest any...
Also if you dont mind going solo or if you have a friends, then definitely consider Lands of Larinia from zero-feeling. Should running either in Action/Action PW, or contact zero on these forums.

An hour or so isn't very long to wait for a response.
Suggestions for single player (if that's your thing) or multiplayer (if you like that) would depend entirely on what you want from the game. What kind of play style do you prefer? Are you looking for adventures you can play offline, or do you want to interact with other players? Are you looking for straight up action, or do you want to play a character actually "in-character"?
There is so much variety to this game that knowing your preferences might help steer those that might want to help you out.

Starting with offline, single player would probably be best. More action-oriented than anything else, but I do enjoy a good plot. I'm currently playing through Kingmaker since it came with Diamond.
I was thinking mods that add a few layers to the game, adding extra weapons/armor/items, feats, races, classes, etc.

Hit Neverwinter Connections and try a DM run Neverwinter Nights Multiplayer campaign. I think Karvon is looking for a Cleric in his game.

The Aielund Saga by Savant is awesome. It'll take you from 1 to probably 36-37 over the course of 6 modules. http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=3920
If you're comfortable with a lot of sexual content from a female character's perspective and like playing a rogue, you could check out A Dance With Rogues. It's two parts.
Aielund is far more welcoming and has more battles by far, though.

Our server is pretty newbie friendly, aside from haks. Would love to have you but I can't really recommend other than that. I didn't make it though the OC because I found persistent worlds and got addicted.

I second this suggestion.Magical Master wrote...

Aielund can be very challenging at times, but IMO is must-play content better than all the campaigns.
Keep in mind though, that most of the better content requires some sizable downloads before you can play them.

Might check the module forum, as I think there's a sticky'ed list of fav modules suggested by members.

Are you looking for modules or mod(ification)s? It doesn't seem quite clear to me from your posts. If you're looking for mods to spice up e.g. your playthrough of the official campaign (as opposed to a "vanilla" playthrough), check out jml's list of overrides:

So I have to admit, I'm a little overwhelmed by CEP. There's a ton of files and I'm not entirely sure how to tell which one is the one I want. I know I'm looking for 2.4, but do I need all the other files listed?
This is the page I'm looking at: http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7849
'CEP_24_a.rar' is what I'm thinking I need?
