Why a race that are so powerful and intelligent?

Why not the Hanar or Volus?

The obvious choice is humans since the Reapers are already on Earth.

i was going to edit my post and answer that. just me but i think they are hiding something. my second choice would be the volus just because they annoy me.

This.

Anything else is ridiculous.

Posted Image This is actually totally right - even though we obviously aren't giving up on Humanity, since saving it (and the rest of the galaxy) is the whole point of ME3.

It would be a pretty cool thing if all the humans die, and Shep and his human squad mates were the only ones left.

I'm letting everyone die and then killing off the Reapers. I'm going to live alone in the Citadel with my needs serviced by an army of sexy AI robots.

True, but it's also true that if we're gonna choose any race to 'abandon', the only reasonable and right ones to choose would be those that are already practically dead. That's what I took the other guy's point to be.

well plus you said race right? quarians only have around 17 million people, theres billions if not trillions of taurians, asari, humans, ect. so from a numbers perspective it makes total sense.

I seriously doubt the Reapers would be targeting the Quarians. They would go after the major threats first: humans, asari, turians, salarians, krogan, batarians, geth. The volus and elcor would be pretty lightweight threats and the quarians would be insignificant.

i would get as many humans as i could off earth and abandon it. but we all know that won't happen

yeah, i can totally see the situation where earth is beyond saving and humans become a purely colony race.

eden prime becoming "earth 2.0"

So is fighting against a race of millions of years old genocidal war machines.  The whole premise is over the top.

Speaking for myself, I'm sacrificing the Batarians.
