Not my suggestion, but a friend of mine's.

In Call of Duty, if you quickly press the aiming button near an enemy(but not directly on them), you can "snap" on to them to quickly shoot them down or aim at body parts for the same effect.

He suggested something similar for ME3. I know how snap on aiming works in CoD but I don't know if its necessary in ME3. Thoughts? I'll let him know what you guys said.

For consoles, a toggle option would be nice I guess since controllers aren't that precise. For PC, hell no!

I could see if it had an online mod and was an FPS, but not a single player TPS. If you put lock on aiming in a TPS it will make it unbelievably easy, trust me, it would be too easy.

gross. no dont use that.

it trivializes aiming. playing through CoD campaigns are really lame when you play it that way, LT - RT, LT- RT, LT- RT.

i havent played ME2 on the 360 in a long long time, i have the PC version, but i dont remember it being evne remotely hard to aim.

No.

Makes Singleplayer even on consoles too easy.

Zoom snap already exists in ME2, it's one of several different types of aim assist that we had.

lol oh, well i guess its well done and subtle!

kudos to you guys!

the super exaggerated ones like in CoD tend to make gameplay alot less fun.

I believe a designer (Christina Norman, I think) said that the game was already easier on the PC so they didn't include it.

It also exists on the PC verson of ME2... it's turned down a bit more on PC though, since it's generally a lot easier to aim with the mouse.

What on Earth for?  We don't have to fight the controller on PC.

Edit:  Well, then, can it be toggled off?

I would hope so. I don't think everyone would want it.

Any chance of getting a heavier duty version for Mass Effect 3 PC?

Wow. Didn't notice on the 360.

Much more noticeable in CoD. I'll let him know that.

But are there plans to make the snap-aiming more noticeable?

I guess that would be more important to him.

That did get annoying when I was aiming at someone further back and just when I started to aim someone ran into my field of fire and my aim suddenly snapped onto them instead of my intended tartget :(

That's never happened to me. Ever. Maybe you just got unlucky?

Probably, happens to me quite a lot on game with aim assist, only a minor complaint though

I didn't even know there was aim assist helping me out.

It had to be very subtle because the snapping on targets in CoD is quite noticeable and that's what I'm used to thinking about when I think of snap on aiming.

Same with my buddy.

I HATE any sort of aim assist, ME2 has messed up SO many of my precision sniper shots.

Yeah its very slight, if your are aiming at any point in the target box when you pull the left trigger to zoom aim it snaps onto the body, it also gives a little bit of tracking on moving targets.

Careful. The mods might lock this thread if you talk about how superior the PC platform is to consoles. ;)

Hi, we can turn this off right? Aim assist feels strange to me.

To those asking if it can be turned off, I'm assuming you've already played Mass Effect 2 and are just now realizing it had aim assist. So how exactly did it feel weird if you never noticed it before?

It might feel better with it turned off ;)
