Well if you choose to play on console, I guess this is you're punishment. If you are serious about aiming and all, play on PC.

The experiences are different, just like the controllers are different. If you were playing with a controller on the PC, you'd probably want to take advantage of the aim assist settings. The goal of all of these settings is to make the experience feel good regardless of platform.

Different settings are required for different types of interfaces... That's just a simple fact. I don't see how that reflects poorly on any platform.

So, the PC user has a choice between a gamepad or the mouse/keyboard and as you stated the mouse is more accurate and you DON'T see how that reflects poorly on consoles? REALLY?

Really? Image IPB

Okay, its been brought up before folks. No PC vs. Console ANYTHING.

No matter whether its "this is better", "this sucks", "this makes this look like crud", its all not supposed to be on the forum.

Get over it.

Wow. The mods are sure lucky to have you here. Instead of discussing relevant topics, you help police the forum? Nice.

As for the PC vs Console thing - this is a discussion about the auto-aim toggle feature in the ME series. How can we properly discuss the mechanics and merits of the feature without comparing how the different platforms of the game utilize the feature? A direct consequence of this comparison is that certain conclusions can be drawn about the platforms themselves.

Now, saying that that the consoles and PCs aren't better or worse in this regard, just "different" - is a lie. The reason is that PCs can utilize the feature in MORE ways with MORE choices for controllers. Unless one of you is willing to sit there and tell me that "choice is bad".

Indeed this sugar coating of the truth is annoying. PC doesn't need crappy lock on aiming. That would absolutely ruin the gameplay.

If it's too hard for you, you can always lower the difficulty, pause the game to adjust your aim or invest in tech and biotic powers which don't need to be aimed precisely to be effective. No need for aim assist. DA2 has target lock and I hate it. Knowing Bioware if aim assist was added on PC, there wouldn't be a toggle.

It's not about difficulty.  It's about coherence.

I want to minimise the effect of my skill in the game.  If Shepard gets killed, I want it to be because Shepard lacked the skills to implement her plan.  Similarly, if she succeeds I don't want it to be because I'm especially good with a mouse.

This isn't a pure RPG, it's a hybrid that's frankly now a TPS with minor RPG elements. So yes, personal skill is a big part of TPS games.

Whenever you guys are done turning my thread into a PC/Console war, let me know.

I'd like to continue talking about lock on/snap aiming without putting anyone or the platform they use down, thanks.

I'm in favor of a toggle for all users with various degrees of snap aiming.

Edit: Only because this is a single player game. Image IPB

We're not putting console users down. Get a grip. We're saying this 'feature' has no place on a PC title.

I'm in favor of that as well. I don't mind the level that we already have, but if others feel the need for more or less(or any at all) they should get it.

I think the snap aiming/whatever you want to call it should at least be turned down a notch. Maybe not all the way, but to a certain degree to fit certain players.

Yeah, honestly I don't really get why you would want it on
the PC but I don't care how other people play the game. This isn't a
multiplayer game so it has no affect on anyone else.
