Lets just say that you were watching this like a movie or watching someone's else playthrough and literally no renegade options were picked (points wise I realize you can't escape some renegade points but a huge desire to avoid the renegade options is still made.) When I say no renegade options, I specifically mean the extreme. That means NO renegade interrupts are used which means you have to listen to that krogan's whole speech and allow cathka to fix the gunship. This also means being completely nice to council when they insult and berate you (I am mainly talking about Mass Effect 2) and other things that can be considered overly idealistic. Let me just say that I have watched a portion of a person's pure paragon playthrough and I HATE the Pure Paragon Shepard (especially from an entertainment standpoint).

PS: This topic is specifically about whether you like a pure paragon Shepard not about the choices you personally would have made. Please do not bring the point about how a pure renegade shepard is just as bad because this is not what this topic is about. From an audience's perspective, would you be able to get behind a pure paragon Shepard and like it?

Depends. Would said Shepard be anywhere close to a position of power? It would waver between 'insufferable' and 'morally abhorrent.'

Powerless, Would Not Be Friends.

Not, lest anyone feel defensive, that I feel any different about a Renegade Shepard.

Eh, he's alright. I could respect him for backing up his ideals with actions, not too many people have the balls to do that

None of mine are completely pure blue. All of them have at least some red in the mix, even if they are mostly blue. (I do have renegade play throughs too mind, but personally enjoy paragon more).

Some of the paragon decisions really do seem stupid and shortsighted. Letting Ethan Jeong and Exogeni get away with the events on Feros, for instance.

I kind of hate my paragon Shepard sometimes, she just seems so naive. I can't resist some of the renegade triggers. In films or tv shows I don't like the paragon type hero, I tend to prefer the anti-hero or quite often I end up rooting for the villain and that never ends well.

I'd like pure paragon a LOT more than pure renagade.

I've only played my Shepards' as paragons, but even I can recognize a "pure paragon" version would a short-sighted, idealistic pacifist, which is illogical considering his ultimate objective.

I've played pure paragon ( think at the time i was under the mistaken assumption that you could loose points which would make more sense, choose a renegade option and paragon goes down and renegade goes up or vice versa ) and from a role play perspective i ended up with a idealistic shepard that truely believed in the council and all species working together for the greater good.

You should be rewarded because that is so hard to do (for me anyway especially considering that I prefer anti-heroes in fiction). In fact, I challenge people to do a pure paragon run. When I mean to the extreme, that is actually what I mean.

What bugs me most about all Sheps, is the lack of investigation before an important decision is made....otherwise, though paragon Shep can be self righteous at times, it too often beats the hell out of the other alternatives offered.

I have tried pure renegade twice now and had a similar reaction to Seboist....Seboist did better than me though, I couldn't bring myself to finish those two games. I get pretty emotionally involved in the game...yes,I know they are just pixels...it doesn't stop the tears from rolling when I see the cruelty (words and actions) and horrible deaths though.

I prefer the paragade role.....largely paragon with a bit of red.... I see my Shep as well meaning and good but certainly not stupid....diplmatic warrior and all that

I like flawed characters. And I wouldn't make it through Mordin's loyalty mission watching a "pure paragon" without hating that Shepard.

I like to imagine my colonist + ruthless renegon Shepard having a few screws loose from her past experiences.

If it were a movie? No...

I'd like him/her to be mostly good but also faced with impossible cruel choices. No-win scenarios that affect the character.

In-game... Well I wanna play renegade (or darkside in kotor)... But I'm just a way too nice a guy to do that.

I wouldn't like the character but if he completly failed at the end because of his idealism I'd probably really like the story.

I have pure Paragon that never choose any Renegade decision and not even interrupt( not canon) but I also have pure Renegade that never even choose Paragon decision and not interrupts( not canon either).
