Hi, any difference between the retail box and (recent) hard case releases? Is the hard case DVD patched or the auto updater fixed?

Likely no difference at all. It costs extra money to have the sources remastered at the dvd plant... I used to do that sort of work. So, likely they just re-used the same source files from the originals. Which means you install, then install the local patch on the dvd, then do the update to 1.69.
