I could see Alistair and DA2 Anders getting along. The important thing to remember about Alistair is that while he is templar trained, he has an abiding dislike of templars. Alistair considers the day that Duncan took him away from the templars as one of the happiest in his life. This was important enough to color all aspects of his relationship with Duncan.

Wynne and Anders... uh, no. And Leliana and Alistair would be positively toxic. Keep all sharp objects away from them.

Fenris would probably get along best with... er... the Warden? Mabe Sten, but only if they avoided talking about how Fenris is actively seeking to redefine his role in life. He would hate Wynne for being a mage, and Morrigan... don't want to go there. Leliana might be alright, but she might find him too broody. He and Oghren could probably have drinking competitions, but I don't really see them as having anything to talk about beyond alcohol capacity. Oghren is coarse. Fenris isn't. And Fenris and Alistair would probably butt heads a lot, although it would be less catastrophic than Fenris and Wynne.

Isabela would torment Alistair. I would buy tickets to see that. Wynne would spout something preachy at her. She and Leliana would go shopping and then head back to Isabela's ship for some naughty fun times. Sten would loathe Isabela.

The only one I could see not getting along with Varric would be Shale, if only because Shale has a really big personality, so I could see some rivalry going on.

And I'm falling asleep, so this is where I quit.

@ Berelinde. I do see Anders and Alistair trying to understand each other. I wasn't thinking along the lines of the Templars but that Grey Wardens need mages to fight darkspawn. I think Alistair was a stronger Grey Warden and he would see the need for mages. We also don't know what Alistair saw done to mages in the circles beside the harrowing so I think he could understand Anders views; however, he would be against blowing up a chantry and the people in it. Alistair would go Templar on Anders for that act and help in hunting Anders down. Anders would never find a safe harbor in Ferelden with Alistair as King. Not happening even with Orlai starting a war with Ferelden again. Anders is one of the most powerful mages in the game IMHO.

I don't think Morrigan and Isabela would get along because I think deep down inside Isabela would do good all the time with the right person and influence.

If you complete her quest and you fight the Arishok on her behalf. She was against selling people into slavery. Morrigan wouldn't have cared if they were sold into slavery unless it affected her directly, you get a disapproval from Morrigan in not allowing the Bloodmage in the Alienage to help you. Isabela will always be a party girl and take those trips to the wilder side of life. Morrigan wouldn't allow anyone to sway her opinion, not without alot of effort and jewerly.

Can you imagine Morrigan's reaction in seeing Alistair in DA2.  He thought he had it bad in DAO, I'd feel for the guy,  I really would.  Now Isabela would join Morrigan in poking fun at a fat Alistair.  I do see this happening.  Posted Image  Posted Image

To the OP, this is a great topic, thanks for posting.Posted Image

Well...Isabela doesn't object if you give Fenris to Danarius, and she generally approves of making a profit.  She's not heartless, but I don't think you have to be to be friendly with Morrigan.  I see Morrigan respecting her for being strong, smart and independent.

Which I noted. I was just saying Loghain might like Aveline, up until Aveline started mentioning the battle.

Aveline wouldn't mention the battle. She'd just stab her sword through his heart

Personally, I'd prefer she use her fists like she did with the darkspawn.

My wardens, Alistair, Dog, Wynne, and maybe Morrigan will be eating popcorn and watching this fight from the sidelines cheering her on.   Loghain wouldn't stand a chance against Aveline.  No way.   Loghain would end up being the mystery meat in the Hanging man's stew.

Ok, all of you warriors, which of Aveline's talents would be the best to defeat Loghain with?  Any takers on this question?

I can agree with this POV.  My gut reaction was they wouldn't get along.  I don't think Morrigan would loosen her opinions like Isabela does her clothes.  Posted Image  I understand what you're saying.  I also think Isabela was against killing Anders or this was my take on the situation and her comment when asked for her opinion.  She did respect Anders bold plan she gave him points for that.

@Evalia: Er... nobody said that this thought experiment would encompass the world events of DA2. And without the world events of DA2, there is no guarantee that any chantries would need to blow up. Since Alistair and Anders share a chuckle over Grey Warden status and enjoy a bit of Meredith-bashing in the King Alistair quest of DA2's Act 3 without any need for an AU pairing, the idea that they might get along is not so strange.

@ berelinde.

I don't believe that I said that Anders and Alistair would hate each other, I said the opposite in fact and I agree with you. I think someone else made this comment. I don't think Alistair would hate Anders until DA2 Act 3.

I do believe if Alistair is king, and when Anders does his special trick Alistair will not side or help Anders and give him safe harbor back inside Ferelden. At this point Alistair will look upon Anders as an abomination and seek to kill him. I don't see Alistair standing by and not doing something about this. Alistair will also feel guilty in helping the warden commander get Anders into the order.

Bioware does seem to be making Anders a Grey Warden canon, even though some players might have killed or let Anders go in Awakenings. I've never killed or just let Anders go in Awakenings so I don't know how this plays out in DA2.

Alistair as a templar and Anders as a mage only - I believe that Alistair would have sympathy for Anders' point of view on being a circle mage and the restrictions that chantry law places on mages. Alistair as king or warden will not go along with the mass murder of innocent people inside a chantry. Anders being a Grey Warden won't sway Alistair from his opinion I don't believe once the foul deed is done. Just my take on events and this funny thread and all party member reactions and hookups.
