 I'm planning on starting yet another playthrough whilst waiting for ME3 but can't decide on which of the classes in the title to choose.
To give some perspective, I had an Engineer in ME then Adept in ME2 playthrough, which I played through, *ahem*, five times, and I've just finished an Infiltrator (ME and ME2) playthrough.

I'd recommend the Engineer for ME2, since you've already run an Infiltrator.

But Vanguard is another option too.

Adept in the first, and then Engineer in ME2 or Vanguard. Engineer is only fair since you did it the other way and Vanguard because well it is the Vanguard.

I would say Vanguard in the first and Engineer in the second, if you don't mind switching classes.

Personally I like Infiltrator in the first and Sentinel + Reave in the second.
