Of course we know that Grunt was touted as the ultimate Krogan by Okeer but might it be that as he matures and ages he could have a lot of potential as a Krogan leader/icon? That might be important in ME3 and that might be a reason to have him as a permanent squadmate, that and if Wrex is temporary we can't go without a Krogan....

What say ye?

Grunt seems a bit too... impulsive to be a great leader.  Not to mention he's only about 6 months old.

That's why I said after he has matured. He could be in the future. That was the point.

I thought you meant near futrue.  My bad.

Honestly, it depends on who he learns from.  If Shepards a good leader and Wrex is in charge of the Krogan, then I think he has the potential.  But if Shep is kind of a dick and Wrev is the leader, he might just turn out more like a typical warlord.

Okeer was weird. I figured that when he said ultimate krogan he meant that he just put a bunch of genes from a bunch of other cool krogans into Grunt and called it a day. Nice to have and everything but a great krogan takes more than genes. If Wrex took Grunt under his wing he'd probably end up a good leader. Of course, that'd probably happen to any krogan Wrex took a personal interest in mentoring.

That makes me wonder if Wrex will fall? I loved Grunt's attitude when I first recruited him. The willingness and unflinching attributes that he exhibited were unrivaled. But Wrex, he had that cold and exacting sense of honor. It's a tough choice because although Grunt is powerful and a near perfect warrior, Wrex is seasoned and powerful. I would like to have them both in a squad just to see the damage that may be dealt.

But yes, I do believe that a krogan squadmate is an integral part of the whole team balance mantra.
Even though Grunt may be a better choice, Wrex's part in this saga has to conclude as well. He was with us from day one. And the genophage was always something Wrex wanted to see corrected for the sake of his people. I say let Grunt do what he wanted to originally, which was fight.
As far as Wrex, it would be only fair if he was a part of Shep's team so they could finish the game.

Grunt shall headbutt the krogan crown from Wreav!

If you left Wrex dead on Virmire. <_<

After all that he learned from his Battlemaster (my Shepard), I think he'll be a great leader. *Almost* as good as Wrex.

As long as I have either him or Wrex tearing through my enemies, I can die a happy man. Going into the final fight without a Krogan by your side is like going to war armed with only a butter knife. Unless the Reapers are all made out of bread, you're screwed.

It's fairly known that Wrex is temporary; Grunt is the better bet.

I'd like to see Grunts skillset evolve to add biotics.

All the battlemasters have biotic abilities. So should grunt.

It wouldn't surprise me. If I remember correctly, Wrex even makes a comment about Grunt replacing him at the end of Grunt's loyalty mission.

I think all Krogan biotics are battlemasters, but all battlemasters aren't biotics.

Aren't his genes distilled from legendary battlemasters and warlords? If so maybe he develops them as he matures?

There is an alarming amount of people, in this thread, mispelling Wrex as Wrev.

There is an alarmingly embarrassing quote above me. If Wrex is dead, Wreav takes over.

Only Asari naturally developed biotics. Krogan have to be exposed to element zero like humans.  They created a surgery to give krogan biotics ablility but it kills them most of the time so they stopped doing it.  Okeer wouldn't risk his one successful pure krogan with a high-risk surgery.  Plus biotics would probably be considered an "impurity."
