I'm hoping that the new female squadmate is a turian. But a human would be nice, too.

I don't care if we'll get a female turian in our team, but I hope that Bioware changes their faces. Only because they don't have to make female turians beautiful in human standards, they don't have to make them ugly. I remember a thread in the ME2 general discussion forum about female turians with a few suggestions that are great.

I've had enough humans, half of our squad in ME 2 was human including the two DLC squadmates. So far it doesn't look like Wrex is going to be a permanent squadmate and I havn't heard anything about Grunt. I need a Krogan if nothing else I feel badass walking around with a krogan in my party. I also would like a Batarian squadmate especialy since I don't like Batarians. I think the dialog between a colonist ruthless Shepard and a Batarian would be interesting to say the least.
I don't know the fate of Batarians in ME3, but even if they will fight against the Reapers, I doubt that one of them will serve under Shepard since Arrival (though I'd like to have a batarian squadmate)

The female Vigilante is the most likely option. More squadmates than ME1's 6 but less than ME2's 10 means 10. Vega, VS, Garrus, Tali, and Liara are already 5.
Yes 10 are likely with one or two DLC.
1. VS
2. Liara
3. Garrus
4. Tali
5. James Vega
6. female human
7. We have all council races except a salarian. I don´t think this is Mordin so new guy
8. a batarian. Please Bioware please.
9. rumor prothean DLC
10. second DLC like Kasumi

I'm actually looking forward to a quaddie from a new race as yet unseen.
Doubtful, but a kid can dream.
A raloi squadmate would be worth the price of the CE alone.
I considered that, but another race in environment suits would just lead to 99,000 threads demanding to see them without the masks.

There will most likely be a new human female that will be the "lead" female, i'm hoping she'll be an N7 operative, it has been said there will be other N7 operatives in ME3

It could be a batarian that knows the truth about what really happened at arrival (though I don't know how he would), besides he might take Shepards word at face value considering at that point the Reapers will be reaping everything, and he knows that Shepard at this point might know more about fighting the reapers than anyone else. And even if their civilization largely gets wiped out there are plenty of batarians in the terminus systems so there will still be some batarians around. Besides he doesn't have to like shepard to work with him if it means it could help save whatever is left of his people.

Yes i always said that but i think Bioware don´t listen to this great opportunity for the story.
I would sacrifice all the James Vegas to get one batarian for the team.

maby we need to try to work together with the batarians in me3 to destroy the reapers atleast what is left from the batarians =-P
That orbital mirror that the batarians were working on in ME 2 news reports will probably come into play at some point.

I've got enough damn humans. I'll take a frigging hanar at this point. Don't want to hear 'BUT HUMANITY' any more than I'm probably going to get from Kaidan.
I vote Blasto the Hanar Spectre to be a squadmate! Seriously..

Such a shame that the squadmate system only work for human like species.

yeah, but then you get characters like tali where 90% of her convos are about explaining "im an alien yada yada yada" instead of actual character growth and learning the characters personality.Someone With Mass wrote...
The humans simply aren't interesting to most people, because they have predictable personalities.

Good point. Many aliens in ME1 & 2 felt like walking Codex entries for the respective races instead of actual independent characters.

It probably has to do with the assumption that this new human will be female and an LI. 3 out of 5 female LIs are already human and another is extremely human-like. And then you have Kelly, Kasumi, Chakwas, Gabby... There are a lot of human girls already. It seems like a waste to come up with a new human woman when we've only had one non-asari alien female so far.IsaacShep wrote...
Don't get the 'tired of humans' argument. 3 out of 5 already confirmed squadmates are aliens. Then there's rumored Prothean DLC. Already 6 and we know the squad won't be as big as in ME2
