Doesn't that just further implicate that humans are the most important and aliens are just quirky side characters and gimmicks, though?ToGVita wrote...
I also suspect most of the temporary squadmates will be alien (and likely essential for their mission), so having more humans in the permanent squad wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
Personally, I wish we'd had a truly diverse crew on the Normandy, just once. There were no aliens anywhere outside of your squad.
Heh, ideally all the characters would be quirky - side characters or not
I also find it a bit hard to believe that the other species would see Shepard as their saviour. Why not band together under their own military, and follow their own spectres? Grouping up with Shepard for a mutually-beneficial aim seems more believable to me.

Because we're all in this together, dextro, levo and in-between? Shepard is important because Shepard knows what no one else does. None of the other Spectres know anything about the Reapers. The entire galaxy needs to be behind Shepard, not just the humans.ToGVita wrote...

Mass Effect Games seem to have some 'One Squad Member per specis only' rule per game, that applies to everone except humans. I'm hoping that even though Garrus and Tali are back we'll finally see some new Quarian/Turian Squad Members.
This. I want Aria but i don´t get her because of this stupid rule.
Shiala would be also awesome
but we have already one asari Liara in team.
I don´t think that Liara is the new leading female.

Krogan squadmate is a must have. Its tradition. Nuff said.Someone With Mass wrote...
I'd like the second new squadmate to be an alien, because I think there are more than enough humans on the ship at this point. And the story isn't just about them.

Yes it is. But we need also a new salarian and finally a batarian for team.
There isn´t much room for them if we get 8 squadies.
5 of them are known.
But the new leading human female is missing this is also a tradition.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; damn furries hatin' on humans
In all seriousness, I do not hope for a new squadmate at all, human or alien. That new "James" kid is a valid enough addition to the team.

NOT gonna happen and if it did I would personally kill him. My canon Shep is a Ruthless Colony Shep and absolutely hates them. Not to mention I hate them personally.Janus198 wrote...

now that that bs is out of the way.... I'm thinking this as the squad...
Ashley (or Kaidan), Garrus, Tali, Liara, James, Grunt, Jack, some new tech oriented squadmate
single mission squaddies.... Mordin, Wrex, Legion, Thane, maybe Jacob....
cameos .... Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara/Morinth
enemies.... Miranda

Not all of them are that bad. There are also good batarians.
The disease victim in Mordins Omega mission was ok.
And don´t forget the technician on Garrus´s team.

Yes, mono-gendered.
Mono = singular or one
And what is that singular gender? Aha! female.

Important to story and full time squad mate - Kaidan/Ashley, Garrus, Liara, James, Tali, New possibly human female character
Important to story but limited as squad member - Miranda, Jacob, and Legion
Not important to story but still full squad mate - Thane, Grunt, Jack, Kasumi and Zaeed
Important to story but squad member only for a Single mission - Mordin, Anderson and Krogan princess?
Cameo only - Wrex and Samara/Morinth

Just checked the definition for female. Unless Bioware determines the biology of the Asari, they are neither male nor female.
Note that this is argument for argument's sake.

Then they cannot be monogendered as they would have no gender. Regardless, you are wrong.

Christina Norman has tweeted that squadmates don't necessarily work the same way as in ME/ME2. It's possible we might have squad members on some planets and not on others.

An alien of a race we haven't encountered in ME1 or 2 would be nice. BioWare mentioned that there will be some, so they can might as well make one of the more civilized ones be a squadmate.

I'd rather have em join in for a while instead of having 12 squadmembers. 6 is enough.
