She better not be. I'm getting a bit sick of her forcing her way into my Shepard's story.

Lead male/female means nothing. I didn't find Miranda/Jacob or Ashley/Kaidan lead anything. In ME2 one or both might comment after a recruitment mission, but being "lead" didn't make them any more special. Since Liara is the canon LI and wears heavy plot armor it seems natural that she be the "lead" female.

Wake up and pay attention! She was instrumental in ME1, became the SB in ME2, so guess what, she'll be VERY important in ME3! Live with it.

ME1&2 and 3 (from what we know) Race count

Humans
Kaidan
Ashley
Miranda
Jacob
Kasumi
Zaeed
Vega
7 total
(Not counting Shep, and the entire Normandy crew)

Asari
Liara
Samara
Morinth
3 total

Krogan
Wrex
Grunt
2 total

Salarian
Mordin
1 total

Turian
Garrus
1 total

Quarian
Tali
1 total

Geth
Legion
1 total

Drell
Thane
Total 1

We don't need more humans, we need more than just 1 of every race of the other aliens in a single game. Also we need a Batarian squad mate. The series has enough humans in it already. Would like to see a more diverse cast in ME3.

This is why I don't play human video games. They are so self centered there at least have to be 50 of them as main characters. BAH! You humans are xenophobic.

But seriously, quit it with the meat-bags. More Cool Robots & Dinosaurs please!

ME1 Squadmates: Rex, Liara, Garrus, Tali, Kaiden, Ashley (3-2)
ME2 Squadmates: Grunt, Tali, Garrus, Samara, Mordin, Legion, Miranda, Jacob, Kasume, Jack (almost forgot about her) (4-4)

ME3 needs more humans because it seems like you'll be doing more work for the Alliance. I love how you can play a renegade who hates aliens, but for some reason you have no other option then to recruit aliens.

You aren't doing anything for the Alliance, you are trying to save the entire galaxy. I already don't like how Earth seems to be the main focal point of ME3. How is one single planet more important than thousands of planets?

You know what? Give us human squad-mates but them them interesting at least! Especially the males! Here is a comparison:

Garrus: A Hard Boiled cop turned Dark Knight vigilante. He is. Dirty Garrus Vakarian. On the other hand he is a tortured and deep soul trying to find his place in the universe.

Wrex: A badass bounty hunter turned barbarian King. Returing a once proud civilization to it's roots but also preparing for a new age where intelligence and diplomacy counts just as much as brute strength.

On the other hand we have:

Kaidan: Captain Uptight and super serious. Doesn't have much to say.

Jacob: Captain Bland who never has anything interesting to say save for male bravado and acting offended when the commanding officer makes a pass at him. Reduced to a cheezy one liner.

Ashley: Good character. However hurt by some poor choice of words. The Famous Human = Dog analogy in particular and how she distrusts all aliens.

Miranda: Pompous and self absorbed ice queen who thinks she knows everything yet will act all meek and humble to get on Shepard's good side.

I really hope that we get a batarian but i have a feeling that  we are disappointed by Bioware.
So much potential for the story and they likely do not use it.
Such a shame.

Fixed ;)

On a more serious note, I agree with you completely. We've seen how diverse and interesting humans can be, now let's see some different faces and opinions from the Geth, Drell, Turians, Quarians and Salarians!
ME3 is about rallying the galaxy, and our squad should reflect that.

I'm okay with Vega being the default lead male human since Kaidan will be dead for a lot of people, but I'd rather either Miranda or Jack take the place of lead female human instead of someone new.

They can both die. Who is in this case the new leading human female?

Ashley... no wait. Jane Shepard... no wait.

Yeah, I see your point. Tired; didn't really think that one through. :P Still, the difficulty involved in orchestrating Miranda's demise ought to count for something nevertheless. But yeah, still, I get you.

What about Maeko Matsuo?
She was a ex-marine, she is Japanese (like Kasumi) and
the biggest plus: She cannot die.

I think I'd rather see more nonhumans. Here are a few I want to see that could actually happen.
- An asari commando, not a pureblood.
- A batarian. If I could design him myself, I'd have him as a Hegemony special operative who recognizes the Reaper threat for what it is, and joins with Shepard specifically to save the Hegemony.
- A turian scientist, replacing Mordin on your crew. He (or possibly she) is Garrus' polar opposite - very by-the-book. He's also been assigned by the Council.

If we do get a new female squadie, I'd like her personality to be something like Sigrun from DA: Awakening. She's too dam funny to forget.

The voice actress played both Sigrun and Morinth?

EJ107 wrote...

Mass Effect Games seem to have some 'One Squad Member per specis only' rule per game, that applies to everone except humans. I'm hoping that even though Garrus and Tali are back we'll finally see some new Quarian/Turian Squad Members.

We'll probably get the new Qurian/Turrian/Drell/Krogan/Salarian Squad Members if the ones we had died in the suicide mission.

I don´t think so. If Garrus or Tali is dead you have no alternate member.
They seem to be bonus squadies for good playing.

Screw any squadmates that aren't Asari or Krogan. That's all you need, oh and Garrus, only exception, the rest can blow.

I dunno ME3 is all about saving Humanity and the Earth.

I'm guessing half the crew turns out to be Human what with James Vega, Virmire Survivor, and the new Human female lead.

I still think this squad needs a krogan. Right now Garrus is the only alien squadmate left who actually looks like a non human alien instead of just a discolored human hottie.
I feel the team needs more Krogans.
