I would LOVE to know how it was "much better". Please, enlighten me.

For linear games, disc swapping is fine. Mass effect is not about a linear progression. All roads lead to the same place, but the path you take can vary significantly. Have a requirement for x amount of gb storage and have disc(s) 2+ as having to be installed to hard-drive. This would have made ME2 a far more enjoyable experience since we (the players) would have more choice in how to play the game. Problem solved.
I think limiting your audience by requiring X amount of storage would be the wrong way to go. Maybe keep the disc swapping for those without a large amount of storage space and enable the game to be played from a specific disc like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow when the others are installed.Cancer Puppet wrote...

Not much point in explaining since I am inclined to say you're not a fan of the PS3 since you won't even bother to look up the info yourself but here www.gamerankings.com/browse.htmlshinobi602 wrote...

Then my assumption was wrong but that changes nothing. According to reviews the PS3 version is superior. If you truly wish to know why for reasons aside from "it's easier than changing discs" then read the reviews listed in Game Rankings.

I never played a Final Fantasy game in my life due to a disconnected storyline (same reason I dislike Mario and Zelda) and the closest I've gotten was Kingdom Hearts. I never said the PS3 version was much better or even better at all. I said according to reviews from professionals and consumers the PS3 version is superior. www.metacritic.com/search/all/final+fantasy+xiii/resultsshinobi602 wrote...
In your own words, what do you think makes it "much" better? I want to know why you yourself believe that.

Two-three.
I'm totally okay with three discs if they're making the swapping as seamless as it was in ME2.
Besides, disc swapping is not that big of a deal.

Don't believe it? Have a different opinion? Not my problem, but there's the answer to your questions.

/facepalm sorry, got everything confused. I thought that was what you mean when you asked why the PS3 version is superior to the 360 one. Please disregard everything prior.
As for your question: I don't believe that ME2 on the PS3 is that superior over the 360 version. For a few graphics upgrades and simple gameplay upgrades (less glitches and easier planet scanning) the game had to sacrifice story and decisions. There is no giant improvement and it is merely up to personal opion
the new disc layout for the 360 only gives it and extra 1Gb of data per disc which would not give it enough to reduce the game to 1 disc if the amount of data is the same as ME2Foryou wrote...
My money is on PS3 one considering LA Noire is 3 on Xbox and 1 on PS3. Though Xbox updated the disc hardware so I don't know how much extra space hopefully 1

Yep, at most DVD can hold 8.7Gb of data per disc (dual-layered, single sided which is what the 360 uses) where Blu-Ray holds ~25Gb per disc (Single layered which is what the PS3 is currently using its ~50Gb for dual-layered)shnizzler93 wrote...

And that 1gb was only various security features that were removed.

While a dual layer DVD holds around 8GB of data, the game data partition
on an Xbox 360 game disc only allows for 6.8GB of data. The rest of
used for a video partition present on each disc and other data. By using
a dashboard update to enable the system to read from a larger game data
partition, developers will get about an extra 1GB of space
