I'm getting sick of seeing posts about this. It was a feature that apparently was removed or decided against at some point, and it mistakenly appeared as a feature in the Collector's Edition. Someone had to say it. Bioware staff have dismissed its existence and while I'm too lazy to go dig through their posts to find where they have said "There is no Prothean," TRUST ME, it has been said.

As gimmicky as having a tacked-on collector skin armor... As a non-canon squad mate AFTER you finish the game, it would be pretty cool in my book.

Plus, all Chris said was, "This text wasn't supposed to be there", not "This idea has been scrapped."

And an even bigger plus, Chris previously said Legion wouldn't be a squaddie and that Kasumi wouldn't be a DLC squaddie. The man's a liar - do yourself a favor and don't trust liars.

I think it was simply because the words "Prothean" and "squad member" were close to each other, and everyone automatically thought it'd be a Prothean, even if there's little to no evidence of it.

I would also believe that BW has better sense than to pull something just so incredibly cliche like this.

For the same reason I won't completely dismiss multiplayer even though Casey said no three different times, I also won't dismiss the Prothean squadie just because Chris said it was a mistake. BioWare is really odd when it comes to which thing they deny.

Seriously this. You even hear the Prothean dude in the trailer. Of course Bioware's going to deny it. It's suppose to be a "secret" that way it doesn't upset the Spoiler-Babies. Me? I'd rather know who my "mysterious" DLC character is going to be. Although why Bioware making the Prothean squadmate a DLC character like Zaeed seems kind of lousy. They should be in the main game. That may be another reason they are hushing it up since they haven't come to final decision on the matter.

Still you clearly hear the Prothean guy at the end talking to Shepard in the trailer.

huh? you referring to the "we need a plan to stop them" guy? How do you figure thats a prothean talking?
What was put up for the CE addition was likely a mistake in that they wanted it to be a surprise. Still I don't think people should act like its a given that the squadmate will be a prothean because of the mission name. Likely yes, guaranteed no. Still fun to speculate tho.

What makes you so sure that's a Prothean, Bluko?  It kinda sounds like an unprocessed Salarian voice to me, although I'll concede that it also sounds a bit like Vigil.  In any case it sounds like bad voice acting to my ears - if that's indeed a Prothean hopefully there'll be some audio post processing added before the final version.

That voice is the Big Ben Sniper from the first trailer, come on is voice recognition that hard for people that if it isn't attached to a body it's impossible to tell who it is.

EDIT: Oh you mean at the end. That could easily be James Vega.
