In some interview I heard Lord Master Casey Hudson say that each class has its own unique melee attack but they all have the omni blade? or is it that each class has its own unique omni weapon? or do they all use omni blades?

As far as I know the omni blade is only for soldier. The others will have something different. I could be wrong tho.

I think it's unique attack, because I saw gameplay of another class using something else than the omni-blade.

Each class will have its own unique melee special which will auto-kill unprotected enemies. Currently you trigger it by holding the melee button within melee range of your target. If you hit the melee button repeatedly instead of holding it down, Shepard will launch into a series of punches that will stagger or push back the opponent instead.

I don't like the omniblade, I saw the videos on YouTube and it brought the game down a level. What will ME3 become like? 50 Cent: Blood in the sand?

Just another action RPG with over the top Melee animations. See Image: http://www.destructo... kill knees.jpg

I wouldn't mind melee enhancements, though I am not a fan of melee attacks as I play a SNIPER!

Can I have a knuckle-duster please? I'd like that. Punch Punch "Stunned" Shoot him! Dead.
I don't want a plasma sword - sticking people in a dueling match is for chumps; cowards and snipers live longer.

Bit of a necromance from a month ago. Some new info since the OP of course because of E3.

Each class has an omni-blade. Although it sounds like the Vanguard will have a more impressive version since they are up close most of the time. Looking forward to seeing some more footage in the future for this

I just had a brainwave, I'll happily swap the omniblade for an omni-tripod for my sniper rifle. If a Cerberus lackey gets close enough to be to strike me I still have my fist. But I'll shoot his/ her equal opportunities head off at 150 virtual metres.

I'd rather have something to defend myself against certain enemies that are concentrating on melee, like, oh, I don't know...Nemesis.

Think you mean a bipod, tripod would be pretty unintuitive for a stealthy sniper.

The revenant on the other hand would be awesome with that. Germans used the MG42 mounted on a tripod as a freaking mortar in WW2.

Depending how good the AI is I bet I could hit this Nemesis Assassin, in some games even the top Assassins sit like ducks at distance and close up can be quite predictable.

Going off topic: This player votes no to the Omniblade.

Night all.

Well you can vote "no" all you want, its still in there.

Why would you need a Tripod for the sniper rifle? SHepard is more than strong enough to carry and aim it without needing assistance.

I have no problem with Omni-blade, Biotic Punches, tech attacks. So it doesn't bother me at all, besides a well prepared soldier always has an "In-case" plan in action. Sniper rifles are nice and all, but at CQC ranges, somethng smaller and more nimble will be needed.

So I have no problem with omniblades, dont like em though? dont use it. Just use a standard melee attack

Yeah, Vanguards might have a slight advantage w/ the omniblade, but I'm still very curious about the special Vanguard class melee attack.

Well, you can always pistol whip them if you don't feel like busting out the omni-blades, or in this case the fists of steel.

E3 demo's were Soldier class on Casual difficulty. No way that was the Vanguard without showing off Charge. ^_^

That's from a video that was sent out before e3 to (i think) gaming websites, not supposed to be seen by the public but someone posted it on youtube.

Would be better if we could choose which omni-attack we have instead of it depending on the class.

Hell I think he should covered the omnitool with whatever element he can and b*tch slap cerbereus troops. A Flaming/Freezing backhand would be a nice little gesture.

Vanguards, like Adepts, will have a Biotic-based one hit melee, not one built out of the omni tool.

My guess is that the GIF posted above is Sentinel, since that's more of a tanking class...

I feel like Infiltrator would get something that seems a LOT more stealthy, you know? We'll see though.

Omniblade is a good touch for those who wanted improved melee.

For those who didn't want it, don't use it. Everybody wins.
