My Shepard is a man who takes action against anything that's a threat to all of the galaxy.. like the Reapers. My Shepard does the right things and will always take a stance (initially through the word of mouth) to defend those who are in unjust situations. To put it simply. My Shepard is a Paragon.

Meh, can't be bothered to go through all 16 of mine, but as for the Shep that is my avatar, I don't think I really need to point out his views. Although I've given him more of a pro-humanity edge but yeah he's just like Bauer. No nonsense, get the job done whilst saving lives where he can and that are important.

John Shepard is a good man, if not always a nice man.

Doesn't sing. Doesn't dance.

Works hard.

Difficult to read unless you're close with him.

Loyal, strong, values his friends.

Doesn't have time for bullsh*t.

Gets the job done and gets it done right.

My Shepard has seen some hard times but his strong character has gotten him through those hard times, he has a strong sense of honor and while his manner can be a little stern he always tries to do the right thing and has the galaxy's best interests at heart not just humanity's.

Think Renee Walker from 24 Season 8. That's what my Shepard is like.

My main Shepard, Jane, is like a more flexible Ned Stark - honorable and altruistic to the end, but not above bending principles to serve the greater good.

Ok since some have multiple Shep's which I do as well... Let's say the Shepard you intend to start ME3 with, or feel is the "best" Shep.

Im a guy but chose a FemShep since i think Jennifer Hale did a much better job with voice acting, now i cant picture "my" shepard as being anything but a femshep. She is a renegade, Ruthless, does whatever it takes to get the job done, isnt there to hold hands and be a hero, she's just there to do the job and save the galaxy. My Shepard is a piece of brick with no character development. I find the whole viewing your shepard in a certain way really strange but that's just me.

My MAIN Shep is a main of integrity, honesty, and intelligence. Wants to believe everyone, and like everyone. He's business first, although he has a love interest in Liara. He's a loyal and faithful man who would never cheat on his "girl." Good friend, overall nice guy. He is the only guy who has enough courage to make a tough decision.

He was an Alliance soldier, but feels betrayed by them. He hasn't turned his back on the Alliance, but does not want to deal with them any further. He only worked for Cerberus to help the galaxy, and once goal was achieved, he left.

My main Shepard is basically this:
He favors change for a greater good, disdains bureaucratic organizationsthat get in the way of social improvement, and places a high value on personal freedom, not only for himself, but for others as well. He always intends to do the right
thing, but his methods are generally disorganized and often out of alignment with the rest of society. While he does not have evil intentions, he may do bad things (even though he will not enjoy doing these things) to people who are, in his opinion, bad people, if it benefits the greater good.

My canon Shepard, as of the end of ME2, is disgruntled as hell. She loves her ship, her squad, and her crew, but that's about it. Shepard's got a strong sense of rooting for the underdog, and tends to take paragon actions, but renegade dialogue options- unless it involves someone she cares for. Her decisions probably seem random outside of context- she'll wipe out groups of mercs without blinking an eye but she won't walk past a dying batarian and not help him. She sees things mostly on an individual level.

She's got a pretty dim view on the power players and politics of the galaxy. From her perspective, if a smartass turian, a dying drell assassin, and a sparky quarian can care more about the plight of disappearing humans than the Citadel and the Alliance, then she's lost all respect for them. Not that she cares about Cerberus- she constantly needles TIM and will go out of her way to make decisions that don't work out in their favour, like saving David- usually because her opinion sways that way to begin with, but anything that pisses off TIM is a bonus in her book.

teal deer anti-authoritarian, crew-loving, drell-boning free lancer who fights for those with no voice. And a bit melodramatic at times.

As much as I'd consider Jack (my main Ren MaleShep) and Motoko (my main Ren FemShep) as my best, you've just got me thinking that I really should start ME3 off with one of my Shep's whom I've had most fun really creating a proper background and RP reasons for why things turned out the way they did in ME2.

She's a Spacer/Ruthless Shep whom I decided to put a slant on the Ruthless tag in that she isn't really ruthless she just made some bad choices in her time as far as getting squadmates killed. I have RPed it that one of her friends covered the story up stating the casualties on Torfan and she took responsibility for one of her sub-ordinates butchering surrendering Batarians.

After feeling guilty about leaving the council to die, she was determined that she would do better... only for things to continue as they are and she is heading into the story of Mass Effect 3 feeling even more guilty because she lost half her squad in the suicide mission.

Basically put, I can see her being an emotional wreck way before the end.

my shepard is a great guy, very difficult to dislike, able to forgive almost anyone, always jokes around with his crew,. though if you f*ck with his friends...watch the f*ck out. i also view him as a sad person underneath all of that due to losing his family on mindoir, then moving to earth with an adoptive family and then losing them, so basically, he fights so no one has to live a life like he did ever again.

A Machiavellian and ruthless space aristocrat. Always dress in uniform. Quite manipulative even in friendship. She likes to display a friendly behavior with her troops and subordinates (with few exceptions) but will demand the high sacrifices and cold-blood efficiency during missions.

Found on infiltration and Black Ops but political savvy enough to avoid major crimes that could hurt the main mission in anyway. heavy use of the bluff or intimidation in the achievment of the objectives. Always preserves every potential future resource/allied that could benefit her in any form without taking into account the moral implications behind it.

Above all else. Believes in victory, no matter the cost. Full Paragade (both bars full).

Mine is like exaggerated me. All my best and worst features greatly amplified. My mainshep is anyway. My others are characters I just created for fun that don't really have anything to do with me. They are highly variable in character and philosophy.

This.

In the end there are basically only 3 different kind of Shepards.

1) The goody-two-shoes Shepard (Paragon)
2) The ruthless Shepard (Renegade)
3) The bipolar Shepard (mix of both)

So far I've experienced that when I try to balance things out between Paragon and Renegade (e.g. a "paragade" character as some of you would call it), I always get the feeling that Shepard is either bipolar or just has a split personality. It often just doesn't feel natural. It gets even worse when you mix Paragon en Renegade dialoge options within the same conversation. Sometimes it feels good and natural, but often it does not feel good and natural at all.

That said, my main Shepard is basically a goody-two-shoes Shepard who sometimes can be a bit of a jerk when work on his nerves, e.g. Paragon with a tiny bit of Renegade here and there, mainly towards Baterians since my Shepard is a Colonist.

My Shepard is the ultimate hero, He sacrifices his own wants and desires for the good of all. He goes out of his way to make sure everyone is as happy as possible. He will go through any trial, face any challenge, even put his life on the line if it means helping others. He is trusting and kind. he is a strong leader who others want to follow. He always does what he believes is right and fights for the good of all. he will not back down from a fight, but he will try to find the most peaceful solution before it comes to violence.
