Legion has some of the best dialogue in ME2, so he has to be in there for me. I thought he was more popular.

Wonder if perhaps it will be a choice whether we get him or Tali as new squaddies in ME3 depending on the choices from ME2 and during the Geth/Quarian conflict in ME3. I so hope he's possible to recruit as a permanent (or major) squadmate again! Love Legion!

I hope that the Geth/Quarian conflict resolution means that Legion will return as a squadmate. Since Tali is returning, I'd only assume that everyone's favorite Geth will too.

In ME3 Co-op MP people will be able to choose what race they play hopefully they will include Geth, and mabye Co-op Geth will meet Legion

I don't think that would happen. Bioware have said before that squaddies who died in the SM are dead. And that if you get a lot of them dying, then you are in trouble in ME3.
I have always referred to Legion as a he, because I feel like objectifying him if I refer to him as an 'it.' And Legion deserves to be treated like a person. (Well, as long as it conforms to geth functionalities of course xD)

when Legion dies in the Suicide Mission, he tries to archive his programs into a nearby archival hub but there is "no carrier" (he says this himself...he repeats it several times). So he dies. He probably officially dies here because they're in the center of the galaxy, and geth most likely haven't made any hubs near there.
They confirmed that if you sold him to Cerberus that it will be a different outcome than if you killed him off, though...

Legion is THE BEST character! Who knew a Geth platform could be the most adorable and cutest thing ever? He (I call Legion a he too) has to be a permanent squaddie. Legion is so interesting, and I wish I could have gotten him earlier.
I also think a Legion romance option, whilst unimaginable, would be fun. I mean seriously, 1,183 geth programs. I would like to see how that would work out. XD

No doubt I'll have to look it up on Youtube, 'cause I've never been able to hand Legion over to Cerberus, even on the single pro-Cerberus playthrough I did.

Yeah, you are right with that, he can't upload a back up during the SM, but before the SM he could have upload some back ups. We don't know how many backups Legion could have uploaded during the game. That's why i said he could came back with no memories of the suicide mision.
