Doesn't EB Games support slapping down money on Pre-Orders without the game officially being announced? I know I've done that a few times in the past and put some money down on a pre-order so when it does get announced they just bump me straight to collectors edition.
Otherwise, the limited number I think would still be available in the next few months. I haven't known of any games where the CE ran out more than month or two before release.

Yes, of course we love doing that, but the CE is NOT on the list, only the normal edition is. Nothing was announced on our B-line about it, either. Maybe it's still too early, but...what Silverman makes it sound like, is that some retailers might not even be getting CE at all because it's so limited. That is the part that worries me.

Hmm. Well then that is a different kettle of chickens.
If I get a chance  I'll go check with EB Games here (Australia) and see if there is anything different. But I imagine its just because it takes a little while to filter out down to the bricks and mortar stores around the world.

EB Games Australia + NZ are linked together, so I don't imagine they'll have any kind of information either. But who knows, maybe the people will. But thank you for checking it out, anyway. You planning to go to the Expo? Our managers are all going for free, not fair. :P

You are right, there is no difference. Just the standard edition.
Was thinking about the expo pretty seriously, if only to show support for something like this on the south side of the planet, but in the end I chickened out.  I'm not much of a social person you see, and I'm really short. So I'd be standing alone at the booths doing my rendition of "What about me?"

The only "good" news Ive been able to find about preordering in Australia is the PC version looks like it costs $20 less than the console versions. Thats comparing EB, Game, Amazon and a few other sites. Still havent been able to track down a CE anywhere.

Please Bioware, dont make me don a wooden leg, eyepatch and walk around with a parrot on my shoulder whilst saying "yarr!" in a gravelly voice if I want a PC edition of the CE in Australia.

Why not get it elsewhere? Preorder at another retailer online or otherwise if you really want one and can afford it.

I know people before were like, "IT RAN OUT AT THIS RETAILER, I'LL NEVER GET IT"

I'm saying, get it somewhere else if you have to, people. Jeez.

I did say many of us are located in areas in the world where we can't get our hands on it. (It won't ship to us.) I live in NZ now...A stranded little island secluded from everywhere else. (Well, maybe still close enough to Australia and Antarctica) <.< Sigh, wish I still lived in Canada, things would be so much simpler, especially with BioWare stuff. :(

I'm pretty sure we'll get the CE down here in little old NZ. :)

Not encouraging you to betray your employer or anything, but go here if it helps to assuage your concerns:

My main fear is the release date being pushed out again - I know that sounds ridiculous, but stranger things have happened.  I needed a firm release date to temper my ME3 obsession. :P

Oh wow, I didn't even bother checking Mighty Ape, that's awesome. Thank you. I guess that will be my last resort. (Unless they sell out before we get to know if EB Games will be getting any copies.) Then I'll just cry endlessly.

Edit: What price is it on MightApe, it doesn't seem to have it posted?

Not yet confirmed unfortunately!  I ordered ME2 CE from Mighty Ape way back in the day, I think it was about $140 or something?

I'll probably preorder ME3 through Mighty Ape as well.

Ah nice, that's not too bad of a price. You don't think Mighty Ape will run out of CE anytime soon, right? :?

Yep, PC games cost less than console games for some reason. Totally agree with you on the last part but I'll include "on PC, 360 and PS3" and "Australia and NZ". :D

There are some exceptions though...

I'm still hoping that's actually a mistake that will be rectified, one way or the other.

I don't like to give guarantees on anything, but I'm pretty confident they won't. :P Also, I'm not sure how much of a following the series has in New Zealand.

I've already put my pre-order through at any rate, heheh.

Ah yes, that does seem odd. Then again, if I remember correctly, DAO on PC is still like $110 NZD while the one on 360/PS3 was...well, much less than that and DA2 is cheaper. Lol Of course this was before our "hero sale" started happening.

This is probably to do with the fact that console manufacturers take a small cut on every game that is released on the system for disc manufacture. It was one of the reasons EA manufactured there own carts for the Mega Drive/Genesis back in the day.

As for worrying about being able to pre-order the CE, I wouldn't as the game is is around 9 months from release so the discs aren't being manufactured yet and the final numbers for the CE will be based on the amount of pre-orders for it. It might just take awhile for them to get the pre-order stuff sorted in all locations around the world.

Does NZ have a release date for the game yet. I know that for America it is 6/3/11 (by the way, that is that correct way to write dates :P), but I think I saw Europe release is three days later. Which group are we getting lumped into?

No date for it either yet, unfortunately. We usually get a mix of both release dates on games, so I'm not too sure what date it'll be released. It probably won't be the 6th though, considering we almost live a full day ahead of NA.

What she said.  :)

This is probably an indication of what to expect:

Guess I'll have to keep an ear out then. I'll keep hoping for the 6th though, which could be a possibility, given it has happened before. I love it when we can brag about being the first people in the world to get our hands on highly anticipated games.

Damn, I am sort of in a sticky situation if this is true.

I really do want to pre-order ME3 Collector's Edition, but March 6th is in the middle of my first year in college, and I won't be able to pick it up or play it when it comes out. I am tempted to get my parents to pre-order the game under their name, but I don't know yet.

Until recently, a lot of game retailers in Australia would sell them at the same price, hence why I called it good news. Since they stopped doing this, they have since discovered PC game sales have increased, and there has also been a (small) drop in piracy figures.

This frightens me. A lot of people in other parts of the world may not be able to easily require the CE. I work at EB Games in NZ, and we have yet to announce anything about the ME3 CE. This news makes me worry even more.

Dont be worried. HALO REACH also had that bull****. Before the game came out BUNGIE said that their "legendary" edition was very limited. I preordered that edition 2 weeks before the game was released. 7 months later i went back to bestbuy, and saw a few halo reach legendary editions in store. There goes my preorder :P dont fall into this marketing scam.

It sold out for the 360 pretty fast, but NOT for the PC. I got mine like two to three weeks AFTER the game was released.
