I'm sorry if something like this has been posted before.
I know it's kind of early to be asking anything like this, but will the collector base choice (keep/destroy) even matter in Mass Effect 3? I mean apparently even if you do keep it Cerberus turns against you anyway. So anyway...thoughts?

I think it would matter.

Probably has something to do with TIM and Cerberus in ME3.
Either he has it and perhaps it is a reason why he is aligning himself with the Reapers
Or he doesnt have it and is pissed at shepard because of it, a reason why he is now against Shepard

Cerberus is probably stronger with the base and they cause more damage to the galaxy but after you defeat cerberus you can maybe use what they find out at the CB and use it against the reapers. I also wonder if the reapers will try to use the base if you kept it in ME 2. Maybe they will try to start making more reapers or something.

I'm curious to know whether or not if Cerberus ever got a copy of the IFF to go and use the base, before they started to come after you.

basically renegades are screwed.

The Renegade is supposed to be the ultimate badass: on his own, backed only by his wits and his nerves. Don't tell me you're wussing out just because there might be some treachery involved!Commander Shep4rd wrote...

Renegades will not be screwed. Bioware hasn't screwed the darkside before and they won't be screwed this time.
It will likely matter to the shape of the outcome - which alternative ending you experience.

@daqs - you must be the only non-wuss Renegade on these boards. Cause all I see is whining from the supposed bad-asses.
I really hope that Paragon Shepard has a lot harder job because of his choice to destroy the base. (I play Paragon) Though it might have been the "right" thing to do (technology outstretching a civilizations morality and all that) - it certainly wasn't the pragmatic thing to do in a galactic war that would end all civilization.

It might turn out to be an additional "level" for those who decided to keep the base.
You'll have to fight your way back in to get at some Tech/Info , which those who destroyed it will not have access to for obvious reasons.
That's how i would do it at least.
