Why Joker? I've always wondered why people want him as a LI.

The reason is because people want him as an LI.
If they're going to make more love interests, and they have said they will, it stands to reason that one of the safer methods of doing say is to make someone like Joker, Shiala, Gianna etc love interests because that is what a notable amount of fans want.

Except for all the old LIs I assume Vega and probably some new human female (a counterpart to Vega). Don't see them making more than 2 new character romancable considering it's the end and that perhaps it will be to start a romance with the old LIs you didn't romance in previous games.
