Will squadmates actually be able to keep up with Shepard this time?

This has been a pet peeve of mine throughout the series.  Far too often, I'll be walking ahead of my squaddies, when suddenly, they're nowhere to be found.  I look behind me, and see them far off in the distance, taking a zig-zag'esque path to me across a field with no obstacles.

Yes, I know I could command them to go ahead of me, but it gets tiresome to keep on ordering them to stay ahead when we're not in combat.

Anyone else annoyed by this, and want to see it changed?

That was a problem in ME1.  In ME2, your squadmates are teleported right next to you if you're far enough away from them for whatever reason.  It's a non-issue.

Ehh, it's a lowsy gameplay mechanic, I know, but it really hasn't messed with the immersion at all. I expect it to be improved in ME3 but if it's still there I still won't complain. As long as they're always alert and able to do what I need them to do.

What bothers me is that they all have biotic teleport to go through doors;
When Shep moves ahead, and a door closes behind him (with the squadmates stuck behind it) I can look at the door, turn around, and BAM! My two companions are in the room all of a sudden, and I have /no idea how they got there./
They're like magical! Or biotic!

Seriously:
I don't mind it. It only happens every now and then. However, I would hugely appreciate squadmate AI improvements when it comes to keeping up and taking cover. Why not give squaddies a tactical advantage set of AI commands? But I guess it doesn't matter. They'll end up as bullet sponges on insanity anyway.

It really sucks when that mechanic doesn't work, as has happened with me a few times. On Horizon, both my squaddies failed to get through the door into the courtyard where the two Scions wait in ambush. Naturally, I got absolutely destroyed.

Wrong. In ME2 squadmates could get stuck no matter how far you were. They'd just stand there running into a wall or something until you reload a save.

I remember the first fight with the Praetorian, my squadmates didn't even jump down into the "arena".

I've noticed it a little bit but not enough to bother me.

It could be worse...

Anyway, I always thought that zig-zag thing was weird, but I'd rather deal with that than having them ride up my behind and keep me from maneuvering properly when I need to. I get stuck on them enough as it is.

Man that is kind of creepy. It reminds me of Slender Man.

Sounds like the biggest problem is that they're too slow.If they could run about as fast as Shepard, then there wouldn't be much problems.
