Is anyone else a little dissapointed at how Sarens suicide changed nothing and didnt even get its own unique codex entry.  I mean that was kind of a big deal and I think almost a redeeming moment for Saren, yet his last minute change of heart and sacrifice is given no attention and has no ramifications whatsoever.Posted Image

Well i suppose only 3 people know what he did so the history books wont say it....or it was just lazy.

Don't you have to fight him while he's alive if you don't convince him to kill himself? I've never passed up the epic suicide scene to find out.

IMO suicide is a great act when done to redeem oneself, since its the ultimate punishment inflicted upon oneself.
But it's still the villain whose dying here. To me Shepard's face told "one problem less" and nothing more.

Seppuku is rarely fully appreciated. Ultimately inconsequential, but yeah, I'd agree. Something should have given a nod to that. In regards to only three people knowing, I very much doubt that there are no recording devices in that room.

i managed to get him to kill himself to help shepherd stop the reapers.

I do agree it would have been good but they do say in the gun shop nothing about him killing himself he says 'you killed Saren Artillius?' eventhough you did not do so

Yeah and in the codex it says, shepard killed saren, not saren killed himself and was then possessed by sovereign. I think thats very sloppy of them to not include that consequence or even make a nod at it...especially since mass effect is all about choice and consequence. Think of how nice it would be if they gave saren his proper credit for really just trying to save lives.

Yeah and he ends up getting a giant shard of glass impaled through his torso.  I personally think though that the suicide is the perfect ending, considering it really draws out the aspect of sarn just trying to save billions of lives.  Guess thats what happens when you don't get Karpyshyn to finish his storyPosted Image

Honestly, I found this option completely disappointing. It's not as satisfying as he changes his mind rather quickly imo - from "it's too late for me" to shooting himself. And anti-climactic way it's done. Up until that point he never seemed too honorable and more selfish saving himself first and kind of delusional in his actions saving "billions"...

I guess he's the ultimate Renegade but I like doing it up to "It's too late to me" right before charm option for him to officially kill himself and then fighting him/killing him yourself. That's far more tragic imo and feels more satisfying and still redeems himself slightly, just too far gone to come back.

but anyways =)

What's annoying is not being able to bring up Saren's suicide when the Council says you have been taken in by his charisma.
