The trouble with Morinth.

Morinth deserves no sympathy IMO. She may not be able to help being what she is on a genetic level, but she did have a choice beyond that - she could have tried not to sex anyone up back when she first found out doing that would kill them. She could have lived in the Ardat-Yakshi commune with her other sisters. She *chose* to be a serial killer, and that makes all the difference.
That said, my renShep still picked her over Samara. Morinth doesn't have a compulsion to kill my renShep after the mission ends, Samara does.

For the sake of argument lets say that Shepard chose Morinth over Samara. Shepard is a dead man/woman. The Justicars and Asari Republic will eventually learn of Samara's death, investigate and be lead to Morinth and Shepard. I don't think even a Reaper could survive the backlash of helping an Ardat-Yakshi kill a Justicar becoming common knowledge. Also several members of Shepard's crew noticed/knew something was up(Kasumi, Joker, Kelly). How will the team dynamic change when the crew learns that Shepard betrayed a squad mate in a critical moment? How will this all shift if Morinth returnes as a squad mate in ME3? If she continues her pursuit of Shepard and other crew members? Will the Squad/crew tolerate this? What will Liara think? Discuss.
Firstly, no one outside of Shepard's crew would have ANY way of knowing what happened. I could list the reasons, but I think you should rack your brain and figure out the many overt clues.
Liara, if she found out...well, I doubt she ever would. She never knew Samara personally, and Morinth not only looks a LOT like Samara, but she can imitate her voice and mannerisms.

Cerberus would probably find out and Liara has many connection now. Morinth will kill again and the Justicars and other Asari will note Samara's absence and guess the series of events. Also, more than a few Asari officials from Illium could link Samara and Shepard. Justicars are a revered and dangerous as Spectres are, someone will come looking for answers.Paula Deen wrote...

They will come, and they will die. Odds are Morinth won't even need my help, unless there will be too many of them.

Morinth was still young and if given a second chance; under my wing, she could become strong and learn to control herself. Or she'll stab me in the back, we'll see.

tbh, I don't think it's betrayal more like justice in a justicar sense. Samara was kinda of a cold **** and would kill her own daughter if it meant justice. I felt sorry for Morinth, none of it was totally her fault. I had to save her.

tbh, Bringing Morinth along with Shepard (who she adores) would be like bringing a heroine addict to a Rehab center which sells heroine at low prices.

@Father_Jerusalem: And yes - all the renegade options I chose were just Shepard being a complete douche.
Can you point to the renegade options where Shepard is a compassionate, patient, reasonable fellow?
I know this is late, but the renegade option when talking to Conrad about leaving the vigilante thing alone shows Shepard as compassionate. It says lie, but it's not for my Shepard.

Renegades are always getting screwed over in this series.... it's supposed to be about how you want to play, but if you want to play to the fullest apparently you're supposed to play paragon (which, IMO is completely boring)... the side effects of these choices should be split more evenly than they are...
Just once I'd like to see the paragon players screwed for a choice they make. lol

If you guys want to side with a serial killer - be my guest. But don't cry for fairness or for me to agree with your depraved decision.

So they don't do DNA testing and autopsies in 2183? Also, Morinth does not imitate Samara completely. Samara was somewhat distant to the crew and some of them still knew something was up. This problem isn't just going to go away.Skirata129 wrote...
I doubt anyone would find out as all clues do point to morinth's deah. I went to kill an ardat yakshi and an asari body looking like the ardat yakshi was found exactly where the AY would have been. Morinth imitates samara perfectly and there's no kind of electronic records or eyewitness accounts of the switch. No matter how good cerebus and the shadow broker are, they can't learn stuff like that unless someone talks. I won't talk and unless morinth is an idiot, she won't either.

anyways, Im guessing there will be some kind of hidden point system, where you need enough points to add up to convince someone or a race to fight with you against the reapers much like the paragon/renegade point system to convince someone.
I have no clue what the Asari recruitment will be like in Me3 and my guess Morinth/Samara storyline will have a part in it (probably small part). Point is: picking Morinth would net you negative points in trying to persuade the Asari to fight with you.

1.) Shepard plants death chip in Morinth.
2.) Morinth nails the Reapers.
3.) Reapers die.
4.) Shepard hits kill switch.
5.) Morinth dies.
6.) Profit!

This is not a spoiler thread. This is only speculation, we do not even know if either Samara or Morinth will return. I think that the Asari will help regardless of the choice between Samara and Morinth, there is too much at stake for pety conflicts and revenge, now. If the Asari do decide to "deal" with Shepard and Morinth it will be when the Reapers have been defeated or beaten back into the void. I have no doubt however that many will have issues trusing Shepard due to his/her actions but with the Reapers looming over head I can't see this coming into play during the war.HTTP 404 wrote...

Somewhere in a silent dark hole Morith kept restricted. Out of nowhere she hears gunfires, people screaming, suddenly her cell door opens. She sees a figure, but can't make it out right away, until her eyes adjust to the blinding light. Its face full of glowing red scars, its eyes are buring like some kind of creature from hell. With a little bit confused, she tries to focus on the figure. Then she hears a familiar voice: "Morith! I'm here to get you out, there is a job for you!". Silence, only interrupted by the sounds of the dead bodies' dripping blood, when they make their impacts on the floor echoing through the room. A minute later Morith was insulted by the demonic figure: "Don't tell me you forgot how to kill and i came here for nothing!?!". At first she answers eagerly but coldly at the same time: "You know me better then that Shapard!", with a little pause she continues smilingly: "I was birth to kill!". Shepard: "That's Morith i know!! Now let's get the hell out of here!"
needless to say what kind of Shepard was freeing her...
