I definitely support Grunt returning as a squadmate; of the ME2-introduced characters, he is among the most sensible choices to remain.

Seems a bit late to try and argue for permanent squadmates now, the game is being delayed for Kinect, not for major changes like this...
Doesn't change the fact that I would really like either Wrex or Grunt for a perma-squaddie, just seems a bit late. And since Wrex is almost definitely not gonna be a permanent squadmate because he's leading the Krogan (or dead), Grunt is my last hope for a Krogan Squadmate
.....Where have you been...The Game was delay to make a Gay Sheperd story line.

The problem I have with grunt on the squad is that, while he's useful, I've little or no interest in the development of his character and find conversations with him to be dull.
Cuz you're a wuss.

It makes me sad that so many overlook him as just 'the inferior Wrex'. Not only is that shortsighted, but it's also missing the point. He is the inferior Wrex! But he has the potential to be even greater. Wrex is an incredibly old Battlemaster and now ruler, he is absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to see him return in ME3. But it fits the story much better to have him leading an army (of angry Krogan), perhaps teaming up with Shepard for a mission or two. Considering his wealth of experience and know how Shepard should practically be following him!
Grunt however, despite his great combat prowess and test tube savant status, is still a young Krogan. Still learning. He see's Shepard as his battlemaster (at least presuming you did his loyalty mission) and thus he looks up to Shepard in a twisted Krogan way. I liked that dynamic in ME2 and found it a shame that we couldn't chat with him more post loyalty mission. I think ME3 could develop his character in some interesting directions, particularly if his was 'permanent' so he is high up on my list of characters whom I would like to be able to recruit 'properly'. Even ahead of some characters I actually like more.

I'm starting to think 'Eve', the female krogan on Sur'Kesh, will end up joining. I hope I'm wrong, or that she only does so if Grunt was slain.
Y'know, that could well be spot on the mark. BioWare have been oddly cagey around discussing her despite it being common knowledge that she is a Krogan Princess (or is she? They don't seem to like referring to her in that way either). She was even obscured for most part during the demo.
Further adding to the theory would be that they presumably put a bit of effort into designing and creating a Krogan female, it's been pretty obvious they have avoided developing females for the races beforehand. Maybe she will be recruitable to make greater use of the new assets (as well as fitting the plot obviously).

I have always thought that since he is so young, that he hasnt developed his biotic talent yet. He is bred from the greatest Krogan warlords ever known and it has been established that the best are Battlemasters and that all Battlemasters have biotics. Grunt could come back in ME3 as the official Vanguard class squad mate.(probably lacking biotic charge of course.)Kabanya101 wrote...
Since Wrex is coming back as a temporary squaddie, I'd like to see grunt return, BUT only if he is a Krogan Battlemaster like Wrex, where he can also use biotics.

Wrex is not coming back.....And Grunt called me a Battle Master........A BATTLE MASTER........
It ether have Grunt on the team or don't have a Krogan on the team at all...And I want a Krogan on the team...

Did you talk to him like a paragon? if so those convo's go no where. Him trying to piece his existence together and looking up to you, HIS BATTLEMASTER, for it all to make sense.

With regard to biotics, and if either grunt or wrex get biotic charge, I can imagine quite a bit of fun for 360 users with kinect:
