I'd like to skip the intro too.
It's cool the first few times, but then it just becomes teeth grinding and tedious.
Having a button that just skip dialogues but is not choosing any options is something I support 100%.

This is why I usually alternate between the X and A buttons when I want to skip through stuff. I press X first to skip to the next camera shift, and then press A to see if the dialogue wheel pops up so I can make a choice. If it doesn't I press X again for the next camera shift, and then press A again and then repeat this process until the scene is over.

I agree with the thread premise. I've chosen accidental dialogue options many times trying to skip. I always hold my stick to the top left when I'm skipping through dialogue just in case.

There are lots of threads on this, and yes, they need to do it.

Make the "skip dialog" button only skip dialog, not choose dialog options.
Agreed 9001%.

I agree. also, skippable intro.
Yes please.
Also this.
Seeing the Normandy explode got old after the second time.
And on that note can the game autosave before we start facial creation? I shouldn't have to start from the beginning just because I realized my Shepard's cheeks are too hollow.

Agreed,
On the PC, the skip dialogue button is the spacebar but it's also used for choosing dialogue. Seeing as the mouse is used for moving the cursor around the dialogue wheel and choosing dialogue, the spacebar should be limited to skipping dialogue only.

I'm a freak when it comes to getting my characters look right. I spent a week re-doing my ME2 face..

Good point! Yeah, it's annoying when I skip dialogue that I've heard before and then end up accidentally doing something out of character for that Shep that gets me unwanted paragon points or something.

Theyve fixed it if you didnt notice during the E3 gameplay thingys. The selector is in the middle of the wheel, not attached to anything, you have to move it to make sure you select something.

As long as the intro is shorter than in TW 2 i'm happy.

Ugh, that was so annoying. I had to restart at least 8 times after the scene where you meet Jacob. I swear the creation screen misleads you, because it will look great there and then you get into a cutscene and it looks different.
Additionally, I totally agree with this thread.

Not as bad as M1 where the first shot of Shep is the back of the head.

YES! Just go with the DA2 option, where the cursor starts in the middle of the wheel every question, so you cannot make accidental choices.
Fixed?
I just hold the analogue towards the north-west/10 o'clock position. If you've played enough, you'll manage to memorise and avoid when a dialogue option pops up there.
Are you honestly suggesting that the best way to resolve this issue is to play the game enough that we have memorized all dialog options in the game and can choose what we want before it even shows up on screen?

Oh that is annoying. I tried to create a Male Shepard the other day and he looked really good in the CC. Was excited to see how he turned out in-game. Then after I had sat through the intro the camera swung around fanfare and all to reveal... a man that looked like someone had attacked his face with Photoshop's Warp tool. In this case the intro just feels satirical, like a grand unveiling of your Fail.
But also, if so many people are having trouble with a certain function (talking about accidental dialogue here) then they have the right to point it out. It shouldn't really fall to the player to figure out a workaround for one of the most common game mechanics.
Still, I am glad to hear from a few people this issue may well have been resolved in ME3. I did appreciate that in DA2, not having an option pre-selected.
