To make a semi serious point I like the idea of escapism in the mass effect universe and so the idea of playing a lot of the game on earth (even a futuristic version) doesn't appeal so much. I hope the art team blow us away with some fantastic alien landscapes.

Doh! I forgot Madrid. My bad. The only reason I want Paris to be in there is because I want to see the French get pulverized....Jerusalem and possibly Tehran should be in it as well.

I expect Shepard to not return to earth until the final part of the game. By then the reapers have been on earth for a while, I don't expect any major city to still be recognizable by then. Suppose I'd like to visit Amsterdam, see what future Holland looks like.

Would be quite an empty city, considering that there are only supposed to be around 12bn people living on Earth in ME

Amsterdam is no longer possible, Shepard can't get his weed from coffieshops anymore, it's illigal.
