Ok so E3 has come to a close and we have had the first tasters of what is to come for biowares conclusion to the mass effect trilogy.

The purpose of this thread is to provide bioware with a collection of suggestions and thoughts from the community on the content that we have been shown. users can come and post their suggestions about anything that they have seen in the demos.
they can be on anything from weapon reload speeds to piloting the atlas mech.

I will be monitoring the thread daily and updating the first post with peoples suggestions. all suggestions will fall under the following categories

1. story (this will be on a separate blog to avoid spoilers)

2. gameplay (covering everything from well.. cover to the on rails section/s)

3. features (this section focuses on the RPG elements of the game)

4. exploration (includes vehicle exploration through to planet scanning)

There will be sub-catergories under each of these for ease of use by all such as; levelling up/xp system, weapon customisation and squadmate armors.

Tips for posting suggestions:

1. keep your suggestion short ideally 2-3 lines long to help with finding them. please no walls of text

2. if you have multiple suggestions seperate them again to help find them.

3. anything that is similar to things already posted will either be counted as another vote towards the popularity of a subject or be added as a subpoint/option

4. anything new will be put under an existing or new category (if ive missed anything)

ok lets get started. (ill add a few suggestions of my own to give people some ideas)

STORY: (http://social.biowar...914/blog/52581/)
(please post your storyline ideas/suggestions on the blog itself, it will be updated daily as well)

GAMEPLAY
1. Weapons:
- Although all classes are able to use any weapon type perhaps each of them could have bonuses to certain weapon types, i.e the infiltrator has time dilation when in sniper scope, and soilders suffer less from recoil (arbiter156).

2. Movement/cover

3. Environment:
- Bring back environmental hazards like those in ME1 and force players to avoid toxic containers or maybe use them or other hazards to their advantage in combat. (Arbiter156)

4. Squad commands:

-Perhaps there could be a third "tactics wheel" acessed by holding up on the D-pad which gives the player acess to more advanced commands such as telling squadmates to flank enemies to the left or the right and covering fire. (Arbiter156)

5. Melee attacks:

6. Other:

- Dialogues between characters on missions and on the Normandy. (Alesky Sapranov)

FEATURES
1. XP/levelling up system:
- Level up should be gained as and when enough XP is gained and not at the end of each mission, this would add a greater depth and emphasis on the RPG feature which ME2 lacked. (Arbiter156)

2. Squadmate talents/equipment:
- Squadmates could have 6 useable talents like shepard in order to make them  more usefull in combat and add a greater tactical depth to squad combat as a whole. (Arbiter156)

-squadmates weapons and powers would become more usefull if they did the same damage as shepard instead of being weaker, this would make choices of squads more thoughtfull, instead of just using tough characters as distractions and bullet sponges (Arbiter156).

3. Weapon mods
4. Player armor customisation
5. Squadmate armor customisation
6. Inventory/economy/loot

EXPLORATION
1. Planet scanning:

2. Vehicle exploration/combat:
- a return to the more open, free spaces of ME1 would be great but keep the environments more diverse like they were in ME2. (Arbiter156)

3. Hub worlds

4. Landing on planets.

special thanks/ acknowledgements:

Well then lets get started and help bioware make Mass effect 3 their best game yet! Posted Image

I think the OP might look intimidating for some people at first glance.

Plus, Bioware's likely already monitoring and filing the suggestions from the existing E3 thread.

Player Features

- Player Armor Customization: PLEASE add light/medium armor parts as an option, some of us feel Shepard's armor in ME2 was too bulky for infiltrator, sentinels and so on.

I second that +

award XP for hacking and bypassing (this would make people more eager to hack and open locked doors)

Features:
Get rid of ammo powers and have them be apart of the weapon modding system(as it should be) and replace them with abilities that are actually interesting.

there was a video trying to show sleath gameplay in ME3 and it showed shepard taking cover in variouse spots and getting to a point where he got into cover behindthe enemy and pull him over and meleed them.

im wondering if i could have done the same thing by simply running to the cover behind that enemy. would the enemy actually notice my movement, or would it stare at the wall regardless?

If I could veto this suggestion I would.

I want to change my ammo based on, not only the kind of enemy I am facing, but also the state of my enemy and their protections. It makes the gameplay much more tactical.

I'd love to see the paragon/renegade system scrapped. I don't think conversations should be stat driven and I feel the paragon and renegade system places an unnecessary influence on player choices.

This would leave the conversations more organic, the outcome of your options would be purely based on your decisions and should only be determinable by assessing the situation and other characters personalities.

The long story about ammo. Bringing a combination of old ME1 and thermal clips systems to ME3 would bring some believeability from Codex entry point of view and give different play style and no more rush for clips.

Story:
-Please, no Dragon Age: Origins text epilogue screen. It was nice and worked for that game IMO, but ME needs fully animated endgame story sequences to wrap things up.

Gameplay:

-Squad Commands: I'd like to see the voice recognition commands include holding position, moving up, holding fire, suppressing fire, all abilities, weapon switching, regroup, etc.

-Environment: Just a note here, I think all the environmental hazards were still around inME2 (explosive canisters, the toxin on Samara's recruitment mission, etc.).

-Other: A second for more inter-squad banter; would also like to see Squaddies move around the Normandy more often or leave the ship when not in your squad on hub worlds. I.E., See Ashley/Kaidan sitting with Joker once in a while, or Garrus and Tali having a conversation in the mess hall. To find them, EDI stations could tell Shepard where squad mates are at currently, or they could appear on a Normandy map through the menu.

Features:

- Player armor customization: More variety in armor pieces and their effects; possily even class-specific pieces.More heavy, medium, and light armor.

-Squadmate armor customization: A variety of armors could be available, each looking different for each character to suit their personality while maintaining the same statistics and usefulness. Less "rule of cool" in regards to hazardous environments (mostly to shut up all the people who keep bringing it up. I personally don't mind.)

-Inventory/economy/loot: Credits need to be useful and feel important.
