He's already there. He's called Garrus.

Naw... Garrus is Batman on steroids. :P

What we need is a devilish, charming male individual in the style of Bond or Solo.

Except Batman doesn't shoot people. And for those comic book fans out there who says he does, those comics in which he does, are for the most part, terrible.

He's the Punisher.  I will release Franken-Castle on anyone who disagrees.

Edit: Too slow.

Yeah. I always thought of his comic book reference with his renegade attitude to the Punisher more than Batman. Anyway, not everyone knows comic books these days.:?

Just bring back HK-47 for every game, even if it isn't Star Wars related.

I support this.

I don't think we really have a problem there. You're thinking about a specific character type. There are already characters with way more personality.

Like I said in another thead, the reason why most of Kaidan's supporters are female (or gay) is because he had very, very little to say to male Shepard on ME1.

Example: Immediately after Eden Prime, male Shepard can talk to Ashley.  Female Shepard can talk to Ashley and Kaiden.  See where I'm going with this?

Jacob, on the other hand, was more interesting to me.

Kaidan is awesome. Saying otherwise is blaspheming! Jacob is the only bad character in the Mass Effect series.

Garrus had less dialogue than a lot of these characters.

Look where that took him. No, it's really just that Kaidan and Jacob are awful characters (or awfully handled)

At least Jacob has an internet meme. Kaidan literally has nothing noteworthy.

I thought Garrus was the lead male henchman for ME2?

Hmm, I think that the reason for Bioware putting generic good guys as Henchmen may be so that players who dont want to chose between shades of gray dont feel out of place. Characters like Carth, Alistair, Keidan or Jacob are all for doing "the right thing" no matter what, which in my opinion just makes them generic and not interesting at all. I actually like Atton Rand from KotOR 2 as a lead henchman, as he is a more complicated persona than you initially think. I also wouldnt mind having someone like Tychus Findlay from SC2 to be the devil on my shoulder, in SC he proved to be way cooler than generic Matt Horner. It can work.

Personally, I think we have enough 'Han Solo' types. And I agree the 'lead human males' have been somewhat lacking in personality. I'd like someone like Carver; belligerent and hard to please (a little like Jack, but not so crazy), a guy with something to prove who is constantly trying to one-up Shepard, maybe with some connection to Shepard's backstory...

But I'm probably the only one. Nobody loves Carver. :(

Carver was actally pretty good. I liked that he always clashed with Hawke. It made for a nice change of pace.

Yeah, I heavily disliked the male human LI options in the game. Both Jacob and Kaidan were so dull, imo, and I bet Vega won't be any different 'cuz he's just another alliance marine. Oh well, aliens it is.

Me too, I thought it was way more interesting to have a character that wasn't constantly fawning over the PC. It was refreshing to hear something other than the usual two responses, "I totally agree!" or "I disagree, but you know best so I trust you!"

True. But as soon as a character dares to speak against the player most will instantly hate him or her "points at VS, Liara pre-LOTSB and Carver". Guess most can't stand having their ego get hurt.

Jack and Fenris get a lot of heat too. Basically "character who doesn't suck up to me" = "stupid and should die" for a lot of players, which makes no sense to me. I tend to be the opposite, I find the characters who are consistently agreeable (Bethany, Kaidan, Kelly, Dawn Star, etc.) to be the least entertaining.

But anyway, back on-topic. I think the big problem with Vega is that he's there as a mouthpiece for new players. I feel like that ups his chances of being likable but boring. If anything he's going to be the Luke to Shepard's Han, not the other way around.

My one problem with Kaiden was that he sounded far too much like someone I truly hated. Someone truly awful. Someone who made me almost despise the first 4 hours of one of my favorite games ever. (Hint: I ****ing hate Carth Onasi)

Mockery: "Oh Master, I do not trust you! I cannot trust you, or anyone ever again!"
