No excuse, they just let you do it with no explain.

Failing that, the judges presiding over his trial will open up his file upon the beginning of his case and we'll edit it during that.

I just hope there are actually some form of conversation afterwards if you change class I was disappointed during ME2 there was nothing like...

Shepard:what the hell is with my body I feel strange!!!

Miranda:While rebuilding you we decided to give you biotic implants in addition to the cybernetics.

...but nope the change ended up going unexplained

Why do they have to have some excuse to recreate shepard's face? If it were me: because we can is why I would do it. Also, if they changed it again, there were minor differences between Mass Effect 1 and 2 that I noticed when I saw how my character face looked after importing, I'd be upset if I didn't get to change her face again.

In White Knight Chronicles 2 you can change your character and I am sure they don't provide an excuse.

I hope we just get to do it at the start of the game and it's considered cannon.

Im surprised no one has thought of the reason shepard might have his face recreated, its quite simple.

You know how shepards face gets all ugly as you go more renegade and you start to look like the terminator.

Well maybe in the time between Mass Effect 2 and 3, his face starts getting screwed up more, to the point of having a skull face with red eyes, so he needs additional facial reconstruction.

I don't think you quite understand, when you change classes, say from solder to adept, the story
is that Shepard was always a biotic. That is why characters still know that you are shepard even if you change your apperence.

Besides do you relize how complex it would be to add eezo nodules throught someones nevous system? not to mention them waking up and knowing how to create mass effect feilds without training?

On another note, Please no reason Bioware, just give us the character creation screen when we select new game

Why can't it be just a thing where bioware will let you change your appearance just cause.

sooooooooooo

Bioware said they wanted a smooth transition into ME3

no re-sets, no Metroid-esque BS

they said THAT was the reason behind a level 30 cap....that was the reason behind the initial lack of NG+ in ME2 (then people pointed out that a level cap st around their desired entry level would have worked the same way) and so on and so forth

so....what happened to that??? really, I am curious

^meh, kinda off-topic, you might want to start another thread based on that.

But so far nothing's "happened to it" per say, so I'm not sure what you mean...

Well I think that if you imported a game they won't let you change anything other than your eye color and hairstyle...but I suppose that would be a little bit unfair so I don't really know.

Yes!  A kindred spirit.  I don't see why there has to be some justification myself.  What's with these people who need everything to make sense and follow some sort of rules?

In the E3 interview, Jesse Houston essentially said that there will be a level reset.  I cannot see how you could not do it without giving imports a massive advantage over the newer players.

But if skills are rescaled (so level 4 in a power now equals level 2), then I don't see why it would be a problem.

I'd rather they don't provide an explantion and simply allow us to recreate him if we wish to.

I would love it if you could change your face ingame =) I'm not the best at using the character creator so for me to get my FemShep to look like I want her to I usually have to reload the game 4 times in order to get it right. It was much easier in DA2 in which you could run around a little, get a feel for how it suited her and tweak it until you were happy. I usually fixed had my FemHawke done sort of half way through Act 1 and then they stayed the same for the rest of the game.

If there was such a mirror in ME3, I wouldn't use it all the time. Simply tweak my Shep until it was right and then it's ok.

ME2 did not give you an explanation, since the Lazarus project was supposed to recreate Shepard exactly as he/she was so if you changed your look or your class the game acted as if you have always looked/flighted this way.
Making it kind of pointless as far as explanation for the change goes.
So I would prefer if it simply lets you do it without explanation at the start of the game.

it kind of gave you a reason to recreate shepard and it "made sense" (i guess :?)

Who cares? Honestly if people want it in the game (which I think a vast majority do) then it should be in the game. I'd hope they do something like shepard looks into a mirror to get ready for the trial or something like that.
