I'm more worried for this...What if Shepard died in ME2? Is there some new Shepard? Another guy with the same last name?

I beleive bioware said that shepard dying is basically "game over" you won't have a save to import.

They should really make an import option for that, and show us a nice 5 mins long montage cutscenes of the Galaxy being decimated by the Reapers. :wizard:

In me2 we had the lazarus project, In DA2 there was a magical mirror to change hawkes appearance, whats gonna happen in ME3?

Is shepard gonna have the option to surgically change his/her face so (s)he's less recognized or something (yeah, thats dumb but i'm not deleting it, it's just an example)

post your thoughts here, talk, debate, speculate, all that good stuff. :)

EDIT: thanks to CrimsonNephilim for bringing this to my attention: recreating shepard is confirmed by casey hudson

Why would there need to be an excuse? There was no excuse in ME1 (besides data corruption).

Do you mean to ask, "How will they implement it into the story?"

Profile corruption worked fine in the first game.

I hope you can't redo your entire facial structure, just hair and some minor cosmetic changes. I don't really care, I'm keeping my Shepard looking the same as he has for the last two games.

Eh, from ME1 to ME2 my shepard changed in appearance even though I did nothing to change it.  Different graphics engines and all.  While this one is basically the same to the ME2 one it still might interpret your shep's face in a way that throws it off what you like.  So I am all for a full change system so you can correct the changes you don't like.   I just hope they allow you to start with your face instead of having to try and wrangle it from the default face.

The E3 shootage show a rough non shaved Shepard. I think he was in jail for a while, waiting for his trial. Who knows what happened there?

I've not had a chance to see the video yet.

Probably similar to ME1 with the Alliance loading his/her personal details on a computer and then data corruption (damn Alliance computers).

I would honestly prefer that there be no excuse and that the Character Creator is just brought up as the neccesary game-mechanic it is.

The insistence on showing the character creator as part of the narrative in ME2 led to a massively hyped death-ressurection plot point that went nowhere and had no real bearing on Shepard's character or how s/he went about anything.

I don't want to see a repeat of that, truthfully.

Exactly, it could just be a "Shepard, your file isn't showing up, blah, blah, make a new face". I don't see a problem with that. Considering how dodgy some of my imported Shepards looked in ME2, I'd need a new face creator.

No one wants a character creator that requires a non-skippable 5 minute cut scene.

I've got it! Shepard is actually a TimeLord! He Regenerates! Perfect excuse for changing his appearance... And hey in the end of ME3, the Doctor can pop in and tell the Reapers to 'run away.' That's how you win!

What? It sounds good to me... lol

I agree with people, before the game even starts and we import our Shepard the Character Creator pops up. I imagine there will be a cutscene with the Normandy landing on Earth or something than a time skip to the trial :D

I don't think Shepard is getting recreated. Apparently the final power choice you made in ME2 (like Commando/Shock Trooper or Bastion/Nemesis) will be the basis for your character in ME3.

Not data corruption, data CREATION.

Shep was dead, maybe it was deleted.

Yep, also nostalgia.

Choosing what background to pick never sounded more important.

Rhinoplasty would be so much more epic if this was playing every time someone picked out a new nose.

This thread makes me happy.

I heard last month that there wasn't going to be recreation...but oh my god I'm so happy for hearing this!! My shep cheekbones looked alright in ME1 -- in ME2...really wonky. I couldn't go back and change them because I did EVERYthing in ME1.

Lol. Anyway, THANK YOU for posting this thread!

Maybe they have files for the trial that you create.
