Update: Modern Warfare 2 montage is up and running.. there are some copyright issues. It isn't getting as good a response as this video, but I mostly attribute that to the limitations of the genre, the short campaign, and the fact that I slapped it together in 3 hours. I'll try again

I have friends that only compose music for film trailers, others that do short films and indie films... Trailer music is just part of selling the movie it's way to sell games and movies. Writing music for these trailers is pretty competitive.

you could at some point work for some company or something in your college that has to do with marketing by making a video showing how awesome the product is^_-

Very good job editing. I love the king Bhelen part, really matched the music. Also, the anvil fragment.



Things i didn't like:



*Your elf's neck!!! It's awkward!



*The fire effect at the end of the video.

it is so well put together!! its great. don't listen to the others I liked the ending fire. haha (insert smiliey face here) well i think it would have been good with or without it. I have a feeling most dislike the glitch and that opnion carries over when they see it. just my thoughts

Um... If the graphics on this video are representative of the graphics in the pc game, then no we didn't. I'm using a 360 connected to my 1080P hdtv via hdmi cable, and they look quite the same, actually.

I don't know, maybe the graphics problems are with people's setups, not with the game itself. Because that video looked, well, actually, lower res than some of the actual game on my nice 46" 1080p hdmi setup. If this is any true comparison, then you've got to check your system setup.

Back on topic though, nice video montage. I thought the music was a good choice. I've completed 2 playthroughs and almost 3, so not spoiled. Nicely done.

I remember watching this as soon as it was done and it has inspired me to make a few ones too, although not par with this and just trying to register the funny party banter. And then some more stuff on the game, mostly for my own pleasure and later review on what I'd done in the game.



I was really impressed by it then, I am still impressed by it now! Great Job! (and like you, perhaps?, I'm also a huge fan of Risen... I loved your review on it.. and unlike you, since you never played it, I'm an old Gothic fan too!)

Actually, I recorded the footage while running the graphics at maximum, except I think the Antialiasing was only at 4x. I also have it running 1920x1080 on 1080p. I'm surprised the graphics look the sameor better on consoles.

love the video, even if i initially cringed at yet another video with a requiem for a dream track, but as was said it's perfectly used and even synced. Just a shame i can't show it to other people to convince them to play DA due to all the spoilers.

You can use Wabfloyd's Trailer Edition Mod video for that. I did it in some german forum (english section of course)  with some DA bashers and well, they now can stop comparing it to whatever game they were doing it and some are
really changing their minds about DA! (even a BW guy loved this vid and shared with all BW)

The Best DA Video - in Toolset Cutscenes cinematics category! - I never compare, I just love them all, like I love the montage! (forgot to say... no spoilers in this one!)

I'm thinking... the point up to the anvil does have some spoilers but not game-breaking ones. I just know I wouldn't mind showing the video up to that point to my skeptical friends. But I did show this to a close friend of mine who wasn't planning on getting the game, and she went out and bought the game a couple days after. She watched the entire thing and didn't mind I guess.
