Is there any offical word on whether there is going to be a limited edition console for Mass Effect 3, like what was done for Halo, Gears of War, Resident Evil ect ect?

I think it would make a great capstone and would personally love to pick one up! :)

P.S. Sorry if this may be a repetative post, I tried a forum search and couldn't find anything.

Seeing as how they were not able to even put together an "Uber CE" i highly doubt they will have an ME3 Console.

I'd buy it, and it can have a unique sound when booted up like the halo reach xbox

Yeah, if it's anything like the Halo: Reach console, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Pretty sure Microsoft would be the principal financiers, not Bioware.

I'd prefer one of those "skins" for systems seeing as I'd have to transfer over the data from my xbox, the registration for Dlc(so I wouldn't have to be online to play) and all that annoying stuff.

(That's the main reason I'm still using an Xbox360 Elite, instead of the new 360)

I would love a limited edition ME3 console. I need to send my PS3 in for repairs, and I need a new xbox as my fourth or fifth has finally broke on me. Also I have a pre-order for ME3 on 360 with no 360,so yea I would love for this idea to happen.!.

I would definitely buy it, im already saving every penny for the Gears 3 console. So uh, Bioware, if you decide to throw out that you are actually making a Mass Effect themed console, im in. I would rather have my N7 striped console over Gears any day. Even though the gears console looks badass.

And I just got the perfect idea. Since you are indeed planning on having Kinect gameplay in ME3, maybe you could cut a deal with microsoft and usher in the new era of Kinect built in consoles. That way all of the people who love Mass Effect, yet dont wanna buy a Kinect to get the extra experience, would be even more tempted with a Kinect console themed after ME3.
(EDIT: Even crazier idea, make the kinect camera look like Legion's head=GOLD)

DO IT AND YOU WILL HAVE MY MONIES!!!

...please

I'm sorry, this is a little off-topic, but as someone who hasn't owned a console since the PS2 days ... is this sort of experience par for the course with current-gen consoles?  (Repairs, needing to buy FOUR or FIVE replacements, etc.)?

If so...damn I'm glad I didn't bother.

This could cause problems, since the ME1 transfer files are all stuck on their original hard drive (not a big deal for most people but I could see this maybe being a problem in the future). And if it came with the game proper, what about people wanting to get the CE? And finally, I have my doubts that they'd be able to make something like this if they couldn't even get an uber-edition together.

...But goddamn, this would be a nice consolation prize. I've been thinking of upgrading from my early white brick to a StealthBox anyways.

i am torn. I don't know what I'd do... I mean I'd buy it but - wouldn't bioware want my first born? They can raise him or her in the vein of an epic hero and make up a backstory for them. Trade?

The original xbox had bricking problems- I'm one of the few people who own a first gen xbox that hasn't perma red-ringed on me (happened once, but because of outside interference), at least as far as I know- mine's so old it doesn't have HDMI capability. The newer ones have far fewer problems. The PS3 issue, IIRC, was limited to a certain spec, and most PS3s haven't had a problem.

Honestly, as someone who grew up on PC, console, and arcade, PCs often have as many issues, there's just so many more of them that it tends to not be as obvious.

You can transfer them over with an official transfer kit.  I did it after my old 360 died about a month before ME2 came out.

Still, my current 360 works fine so I wouldn't buy a new one.  Unless it makes tea or something.

Or, IF you saved during The Battle for the Citadel, you can switch 'drives' MINE are on a USB stick. You can NOT COPY nor move them. I play ME1 and save on the HD until Saren dies, then switch the save to the USB, then talk to Joker and finish off Soverign. When importing, ME2 asks you what drive the save file is on, BINGO, it's on the USB.
This method would (should) work if you played a ME1 character on the Xbox then switched to a PC or a different Xbox and started ME2, dunno if that would work with the PS3 (I doubt it).
