Sup dudes and duderettes.

I had an idea for a DA:O module where it would someone replicate a "survival" game mode to see how long the player could last against swarms of invading Darkspawn. This would be similar to these game modes (for those who have played them);

Horde Mode - Gears of War 2
Firefight - ODST

And any other survival modes you could think of. These were just some basic concepts that i had in mind;

- Round based or time based survival system? (ie. A round has a set number of enemies, while a time based system constantly sends them at you.)
- Pre-made characters or created characters at the beggining of the module?
- NPC's to help?
- Increasingly more diffcult enemies. (Obviously)
- Should characters be at a set level (20 perhaps?) the moment they start the game?

Again these are all ideas, if anyone wants to help me make this module or has started please let me know!

I dont think this will be much fun alone, those gametypes are all about co-op.

I do agree with you, I think they're ALOT more fun Co-Op, but if there we're some type of ladder I could create to go along with it i think it could be pretty competitive :-)

I think perhaps something like an assault/defence mode might be better for single player. you could still have spawning hordes that will anihalate you, but the goal would be toi accomplish your task BEFORE they overtake you... kinda of a race against the clock deal.

I'd imagine something set in a Castle that first you have to assault it and take the flag/throne room, etc. and then you have to defend it for the same amount of time it took you to take the castle (while NPCs assault you).

I really enjoyed this mode in Unreal Tournament (2004? version I think) even just against NPCs.

I personally would really enjoy something similar to this. As for context, you could just set it in the Deep Roads, or the middle of a Lothering during the Blight - somewhere where there's a practically infinite supply of darkspawn.

I would offer you my help, but I haven't yet had time to get to grips with the toolset. I would be happy to beta test in the future if you get it going, though.

Thats actually a really good idea, it puts a neat spin on balancing survival/objectives. I dig it!
