Dude comes out as gay. And his 'flirtations' didn't seem serious. It was more like playful banter, I do that all the time with friends guys or girls.

I am not perfect therefore I have no right to stone my neighbor. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus. When people were about to stone the prostitute mary, Jesus told them that there were not as perfect as the prostitute therefore they dont have the right to stone her.

Going by that logic, that also means people don't have the right to hate gays, am I right?

I dont hate gays i am just disappointed that BIOWARE would allow gay sex in ME just to appeal to the gay people. Gay is unnatural.

Why COULDN'T we make a chunkier Hawke? I could see where that would be a problem with rogues or even warriors to some extent, but there's no reason we couldn't have a tubby mage..... I support fat Hawke for DA3!

That's exactly what it is. It's too bad that a lot of people tend to forget this.

So did I. It's the one thing my grandmother was big on. (Not that she cared about homosexuality. She's pretty much the "if it makes you happy and you're not hurting anyone/being hurt go for it." type.)

Silly conversation, though. Pretty much everything about the modern world is "unnatural", which is good. I think we long ago decided that nature generally sucks. Nature means we live in trees and die young being eaten by sabertooth tigers. I vastly prefer unnatural any day.

Only if you take the scribblings of neolithic hunter-gatherers at face value. If you look at it from a rational point of view, it's perfectly natural, and from an anthropological standpoint, strengthens a tribe. Too many breeding pairs can lead to overpopulation, and a society pretty much always produces more babies than it can care for. If some individuals are homosexual, the likelihood of reproduction is reduced for those individuals, yet they can still strengthen the society in other ways by contributing to defense, child raising, food gathering/agriculture, etc. Competition for females causes aggressive behavior amongst breeding males as well, leading to accident and injury, even death. Since males of most species are physically larger, they are necessary for defense. If the sole purpose of every individual in a species was reproductive potential, then males would die after impregnating females, as their purpose would have been fulfilled. In some species, this is exactly what happens, but in higher vertebrates, the males fill other roles other than fertilization, they aren't simply sperm donors.

If "gay was unnatural", it would also be unique to the human species, but it is not. Homosexual behavior occurs in many species. It is clearly advantageous from an evolutionary standpoint, or at least not inherently disadvantageous.

Well according to my art books, it was an open and accepted practice in ancient greece, rome, etc.  during renaisance - there was also some resurgence.  and all the while, there was a smattering of art, literature, etc all the way through that ebbed and flowed

think in centuries rather then decades.  they may be large circles but they are still circles.

P.S.  bisexuality is natural in a variety of species, since it doesn't preclude pocreation (and I beleive that they have proven that at least some of the mamalian species have sex for recreation as well as procreation).  full on homosexuality?  we don't know for sure, since one other thing that's natural in nature is the competition for mates and the fact that not everyone in communal species gets to have babies due to pecking order arrangements.
