I dont hate gays i am just disappointed that BIOWARE would allow gay sex in ME just to appeal to the gay people. Gay is unnatural.

And yet all kinds of animals exhibit homosexual behavior all across the animal kingdom. <_<  :?

I've got to be honest, but which animals do this? I know rabbits do this, but I wouldn't call it homosexuality.

But we're getting off topic. Please someone rail this thread back to its track.

Actually, society's view towards homosexuality hasn't gone forward, only in circles.

How so? If it has gone in circles I'd say it was a very, very large circle.

Yeah, I don't get this either, at least here in America views on homosexuality are DRAMATICALLY different then they used to be. I was under the impression this was true of most of the rest of the world as well.....

Well according to my art books, it was an open and accepted practice in ancient greece, rome, etc.  during renaisance - there was also some resurgence.  and all the while, there was a smattering of art, literature, etc all the way through that ebbed and flowed

think in centuries rather then decades.  they may be large circles but they are still circles.

Ah, okies I guess that's a point. Yeah, I know sex with another man was actually considered quite manly to many Greeks and such back in the day. XD

We're not supposed to be talking about romances until after sometime next week when more information is announced. So either way we're technically breaking the forum rules anyway, and this thread will eventually be locked.

The Romans and Greeks embraced homosexuality, as did (and still is pretty gay friendly) Japan (some samurais had male partners, if I recall). Then came the time of feudal (medieval or whatever) Europe (and all time afterwards), and homosexuality was viewed as a detestable act. We seem to be going back to before those days.

Western civilization started to reject homosexual acts when they adopted Christianity.

Right away sir!

How many male s/s LIs and female s/s LIs will be there in ME3 do you guys think?

My guess - 2 male LIs, one old and one new and 1 new female human LI (+ old Liara)

It doesn't say much of the community that people fall for such a blatant troll. He signed up a few days ago, calls himself "ChristianSoldier" and says things obviously intended to provoke the people in this particular thread and yet everyone is actually taking him seriously.

Spartans are famous for being gay, at least before marriage. Being effiminate was bad, though, since being a bloodthirsty maniac was pretty much a prerequisite for being a Spartan.

I guess those that embrace gays are fine with pedos too.

I got this feeling that Kaidan (or a new guy) and Vega will be the two new male LIs. I have no idea about a new female LI.

Mainly in mamalian species... but also birds such as penguins, with male penguins having been noticed mating for life like a hetero penguin couple would.

"Homosexual behaviour does occur in the animal kingdom outside humans, especially in social species, particularly in marine birds and mammals, monkeys, and the great apes. Homosexual behaviour has been observed among 1,500 species, and in 500 of those it is well documented" (http://news.bbc.co.u...ope/6066606.stm)

I was guessing you were talking about this and while parts of that may be true that is not the whole truth. For example in Greek and Rome it was more of a bordering pedophillic coming-of-age ritual and was far more common in women. You are right...they didn't identify themselve by sexuality but Aldut Male realtionships where a stigma and often the weaker (or bottom.....) would be shuned.

So while they did ...somewhat tolerate it....not much different from today. To be a man you can't love another man and you definitly can't be a man's lover. And lets not forget that same issue that keeps most people from accepting homosexuals (besides...religion).....being seen as feminine.

That doesn't make it any less nasty.

Ever notice how the pro-same-sex crowd can resist talking about this when the devs say "cool it until X date", but the anti-same-sex crowd simply can NOT stop talking about it? What's up with that? *raises eyebrow*

As long as they don't hit on me it's OK I guess. Also don't want my characters squishing sides.

C'est vrai, but it has since been hijacked. But it is of no moment, the egregious breach of site rules has been reported, and it is only a matter of time before the Lockdown™ occurs.
