Enough people have been indoctrinated and I'm getting very tired of it to be honest.

yeah, its not like a core thing in the story or anything right? :bandit:

True but it doesn't change the fact that it's getting very boring and predictable now. It's being used too much and from a story standpoint, it's getting very stale.

It worked in ME1 very well because it was a new a fresh idea. But it's starting to get a bit silly now. Might as well change the name to "Indoctrination effect" too.

None.

I wish we could save Benezia back on Noveria, knock her out and put her in a stasis tank until we destroy Sovereign, not letting her die just like that...

*Shepard slumps to the ground bleeding profusely*
Shepard:"Garrus... how... could you?"
Garrus:"Oh you know me. I like to savor every shot. That and calibrations."
Shepard:"Dammit! I knew something was wrong with you!"
*Shepard coughs up blood*
Garrus:"See ya Commander."
*Gunshot*

Shepard:"AHHHH!!!"
Garrus:"Shepard what's going on?!"
Shepard:"Oh god, it was just a dream."
Garrus:"There there buddy. Let's just go back to sleep and pretend it never happened okay?"
Shepard:"I love you bro!"
*Breif pause*
Garrus:"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL!"
Shepard:"AHHHHHHH!!!"

no more indoctrinations please. this would be just make me facepalm.

But if you absolutely, INSIST on sticking something lame a cliche like this in, at least make it a paragon/renegade thing where if your score is high enough you can save them.

Like Saren...multiple checks, each one a little bit higher.

It would make more sense for Shepard to be indoctrinated. With the amount of Prothean/Reaper artifacts he/she has come in contact with. Also let's not forget waking up on that lab table two days later during The Arrival.

Nobody. Because it would be such a cliche it would hurt.

This.

If anything, make it a new squadmate, at least. None of the new ones.

Hell, the Prothean one would be better than any of the ones we've come to know.

It does sound like an interesting idea, but it pretty chliche and doubtful it will be in the game.

Still if I had to chose it would have to be Tali, Garrus or LI. Of course I think it would be quite cool for a sort of fight would be where everyone gets controled and you have to fight them, forcing you to either kill him to make the fight easy or perhaps doing something else to knock them out. Again, don't expect to have, but just would be interesting.

No one.

Not because I don't like it (though I don't). But because Indoctrination takes time. Not hours. More like Week+ to weeks.

Who has spent enough time near Reaper stuff to /get/ Indoctrinated? I really can't think of anyone. A few hours hear or there doesn't cut it.

Now I could see something setting-wise like from the comics, where someone is turned into a 'sapient husk', but that's not indoctrination and not a shocking betrayal. 'Oh Garrus, why are you all huskified, you won't betray me, right?'

What if it turns out the Reapers are actually the good guys, as has been speculated already and some squadmates will turn over to their side, or atleast the opposite side of what Shepard is doing.

If destroying humanity means you're a good guy, then I'd rather be a bad guy.

To be fair, they took "half the colony" according to that one dude.  So it could have been dumb luck.

Lilith Was at most 10 feet away from the VS, and she got captured, the entire reason the collectros were there was because of the VS.

I think the idea of a teammate betrayal would be lame and cliche, but if it had to be someone it would have to be either Liara, Virmire Suvivor, or a new character. It wouldn't work with any returning ME2 squadmates, as they could possibly be dead and nothing would happen for some players.

Stop trying to justify the face that this is a bad idea worthy of a fanbase-wide facepalm.

Indoctrination has already been used to justify Cerberus and/or TIM.

It's borderline "wizard did it" stuff, and would add *nothing* good to the story.

No oen has given a real reason why it would be a Bad thing

Indoctrination is the Reapers Greatest Weapon, it make sense for them to use it aginst shepard in a  way were it would really hurt

Their is ground work for it if it is the VS [its more ridiculous to belive they just happend to get passed over by the collectors]

Er, I just gave you a reason; it's been overused.

Saren
Benezia
TIM/Cerberus
Kenson

You can only use "mind-control" as a twist so many times before it's just yawn.

Yes, it's a big weapon for the Reapers, but mind control is mind control. You don't have to put too much thought into why a character does things if you can just say they were mind-controlled.

And particularly if you do it to people's LI, or a specifically LI(I see a lot of Tali/Garrus hate, as always people just mad they're so popular...), it serves *no* purpose other than pissing off the player.
