What I am wondering is assuming the reapers are somehow all destroyed is how the reaper corpses will be handled, they are not exactly safe to be around but you know there will be someone dumb enough to try and salvage some of their technology.
you're right, there lies a very dire problem, that is of course assuming that what we beat them with leaves salvageable corpses, it's not likely, just possible.

Another possibility is when we turn the tide of battle and most of them are destroyed that the remaining ones try to retreat into hiding somewhere making them still a threat.

Honestly, if there was a Mass Effect RTS, I'd buy it.
It's be awesome.
Thats the greatest idea I've ever heard of. Mabye get the old Westwood Studies gain together.

That was one thing that ME2 did really nicely compared to ME1 - sure, you get the big heroic cutscene with cliffhangeryness an' all, but then you've got the option to have a cuddle with your wuv interest in your quarters, revisit all the hubs, play the latest DLC missions without needing to start a new playthrough, fiddle with all the cool bits and bobs on the Shadow Broker's ship, etc.
It's like the old cliché - what's the point in fighting the good fight without a dream (of a little cottage with a picket fence) to fight for?
...ok, maybe too much specific detail about what goes on in my addled mind. But you get the idea, I'm sure!

There's a beautiful planet near the Terminus Systems that is just perfect for Shepard's retirement. It's called Virmire, and other than a small-ish burned spot, it's a lovely garden world that's an ideal home for Shepard and Liara/Kaidan/Ashley/Miranda/Jacob/Garrus/Tali/Thane/Jack/Kelly. And it would be a fitting tribute to the Virmire Deceased if Shepard made a home there.
Even better - Shepard's already got that great bit of real estate on Intai'sei to enjoy. It's in a prime location - twenty minutes to the beach, twenty minutes to downtown... The value's only going to go up!

Seriously, I'd love some kind of open-ended play for certain endings in ME3 (the ones where the Reapers don't wipe out all sentient life, obviously...), where you can interact with squadmates/LIs, joyride around the galaxy, perhaps even some minigames...

Yeah thats kindof what I always think about the end of Star Wars. I'm always like. Wow thats great that we killed a few thousand storm troopers but are luke and the ewoks gonna build a galatic civilization or something now? lol:lol:

I honestly want an evil ending when the reapers lose and cerberous takes over.
Human dominance by any means necessary... But at what cost?
I also would rather end it with Shepard becoming a reaper.
For my paragon shep? Simple, retirement.
My neutral character? Who knows?
