I don't know if anyone has already posted this but there is a controller out there, Razer Onza, that lets you perform the reload trick on xbox 360 while maintaining aim on target. Arelex has a great thread about Vanguard on 360 with claymore, and its difficult ( for me at least ) to do using a normal controller.
Arelex thread social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/261/index/6343841
Using a normal controller here is what you do ( assuming right handed config ):
(1) charge target
(2) release left trigger ( note that your left trigger finger is now free ), press and hold right trigger to fire. Maintain thumbs on the two control sticks to aim and move to target.
(3) "at the sweet spot of the animation" ( while right trigger is held ) take thumb off right thumbstick and hit "B" for melee - presto the gun fires again.
repeat as required.
What this Razer controller has is an additional two bumper pads, either one can be programmed to be one of the other buttons ( A,B, X, Y ). So what you do is program the extra left bumper to be the "B" button. The difference is now that in step (3) above you don't need to take the thumb off the right ( camera ) stick to perform the melee, just use your free left trigger finger to hit the extra bumper pad.
I created a playthrough just to use this controller to test it out, and even before I got the claymore, it made using melee with the Evi much more effective ( because you can maintain aim while doing a melee ). Once you get the claymore it really makes that gun a powerhouse. I have played many times over this last year using vanguard, and I wish that this controller was out a year ago. They only became available in March this year.
I don't know if they are going to use the reload trick in ME3 or not, but it is a very good controller anyway. It is not wireless, but made by Razer which makes high quality mice/keyboards for PC gaming. No, I'm not a salesman or anything - this controller just helps make the Claymore the best shotgun for Vanguards. Without the reload trick that aint the case.

The secret to how I do the reload trick and aim so perfectly? I hold the controller different.
Since I started playing console shooters (Halo 1) as a wee lad, instead of using the standard 'index fingers on triggers' grip, I place my left hand like normal, and I am actually pressing the trigger on my right hand with my middle finger, using my free'd up index finger to push the face buttons. This means that I have access to every option on the controller at the same time (so I can do the reload trick with perfect timing and no loss of aim), without having to sacrifice one for another. I've obviously had lots of practice doing it, and it's second nature now, but this is the most efficient, accurate way to do it.
