Just thought I'd share this with everyone, one of my returning players at worldofcaenyr.com posted that he purchased and downloaded a new copy of NWN: Diamond from a site called gog.com. I checked it out and it seems to be legit, and only $9.99! Guess that makes sense since it's an older game. So if you have friends or returning players or anything that might have lost a copy of their game this seems to be the place to get it! :)

PS - I searched these forums first to see if someone else had already posted this so that I didn't duplicate post, and in doing so the only reference I found to gog.com was a brief conversation from last year where it appeared as if they had shut down. But to me it looks as if it is up and running just fine, in fact it even has a © 2011 mark on the bottom of the site and it let me register a new account and do downloads. *shrugs*

Don't ever hesitate, Elvamir. It's better to double post something interesting than simple post something which isn't.
Both being most welcome anyway.
Good job.

From what I know that was a silly PR stunt, the site went out of beta and announced that by telling the world the (old) GOG.com was gone, leading users to believe that they went bankrupt or something and that all the purchased games had gone down with them. Of course it caused lots of publicity AND an outrage. They've apologized and sworn a million times since then that it's never going to happen again.

If you buy the game from GoG, don't forget to request your CD-Key form them.

The unique CDkey set is only necessary if you wish to use it multiplayer. In the past Bioware has asserted that online play only accounted for a tiny fraction of total sales. In theory not having to generate new keys saves a bit of administration.

the unique is needed for online yes but they need to give you a key to run the installer. So why would they not give you your unique key to play online to start with?

I think it is because Bioware only gives them so many at a time.  Once they use them all, They also have to request more.

Because it comes with a common installation key.  This has caused a bit of havoc among PW's.

i still vote thats redickously silly why not just go to store and buy copy there itd be simplier and you would get your own key from the start instead of that request my own key crap

Edit:

I'm so glad I bought like 5 copies of the game so each one of my computers that can play nwn has had its own key. However just because because all my computers have the game installed dudnt mean i play on all of them tho. at most i dualbox tho i might just try triboxing on low pop servers that are good in an attmept to bring players back if i feel that server is worth it.

Btw i'm so pumped my fav server ever just came back online a few days ago . I find to be the server ive had the most fun on ever due to a exellent community with 1 or 2 exceptions. if you guys want to check it out its Realms Of Jova under social its just requires Cep 2.0

Glad to hear some business is being steered GOG's way. I haven't personally purchased games from them yet (since I still have the CDs for most of the classics they offer) but I love their business model and hope to see other digital stores follow suit, ensuring their games are compatible with current systems and such.
