I really doubt your artistic vision, Bioware

Y'know, the funny thing is I actually agree that having two different oufits that are radically different enough from each other to satisfy as many players as possible is a good idea. And I love the idea of space sections with actual space suits. However the way a lot of this is argued is just so headache inducing at times.

The OP, for example, being upset by BioWare standing by the artistic vision of it's art team? Ye gods I applaud it! They aren't caving in to pressure and changing their vision for someone else, that is a good thing. Would you be telling them off for it if those telling them to change were fans of Gears of War and wanted less RPG and talky bits? Or those that don't want homosexual relationships in the games? Etc. The best thing the team can do is stick by what THEY want to achieve from the series, gods only knows they have earnt the right to trust their own judgement.

Why is it we, as fans, seem to think we know all the answers and that only our way can be the right way? Particularly when only being let in on about 10% of the details. And at the end of the day all this is over one outfit, nay haircut, of a squadmember. It all just seems quite silly to me sometimes. *shrugs*

Edit: And look at that, I wonder if I got the percentage right. Go Casey! ^_^

Yayz! ^_^

So much irrational fear. It's very sad, but I agree. Shut up now.

IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED ASHLEY CAN WEAR ARMOUR.

This is the exact reason I rarely bother with these forums.

From a gameplay perspective, what we saw Willliams wearing IS armor, so that twit TELLS ME NOTHING!

Gladly. And we slip back to Off Topic. :)

The day I trust anything Hudson says is the day Bioware is our dictatorish leader. I think he talks a lot of **** and seemingly do not know what a RPG is. In my opinion, so stop crying about it not being anyone elses opinion or that 99% do not think like me.

Didn't see that response before I made my own.  Good.  Hopefully I won't have to deal with her wearing psuedo-armor for the first half of the game before I get her into something practical.  Also hope that I don't have to pay extra for that practicality.

Yes, please. Stop it with these useless threads...wait until the game is out, read the reviews and then make the judgement and the decision to purchase the game, if you have preordered then the blame is on you...

Flooding the forums with Ashley this and Ashley that threads is not helping anybody.I would find it silly for them not to give us the option to armor given the fact that it was a major complaint from ME2, but if they don't then you have the choice of not buying it with all your reasons.
In the end it's just a video game, not armaggedon.

Hopefully armour isn't just referring to what she's wearing currently

He also mentions a helmet, which we have not seen thus far. Notice "helmet," not "headgear."

"Ashley will be able to have armor and a helmet in #ME3, as will others. We've only shown very little of the game so far."

And the "we've only shown little so far" strongly suggests that she will have other outfits. Now you're just arguing for the sake of it.

Don't worry, you'll get Ash in armour. As paid DLC. $$$ Gone are the days where you could outfit your companions the way you want to.

However, the usual Bioware board hysterical hyperbole goes off and people are now comparing her to Miranda and calling her hooker and w*hore when we've seen nothing of the kind just makes me roll my eyes.

It's BSN though. You kinda get used to the hyperbole and claims of the apocalypse. I was just pointing out that ME gave players a choice which it seems we're getting again this time around.

Yes, I see them along the highway in pairs standing and waiting for men to come pay them for a good time. Doesn't that fit the definition of hooker?

That is not the point. As your said by yourself, your dissatisfaction with this certain piece of armour is based on the stereotype of super macho guys wearing heavy armour.

I just said that it could fit nicely with the "extra armour protection" "theme" for Sentinels.

Well it looks nice on Kaidan but it doesn't fit his character. You know, Biotic part.

As I said, this is a certain concept artist's artistic vision. You don't like it? Would you prefer it to be more realistic? Fine, provide feedback, a concept artist always receives such by several parties.

But that's all you can ask for, you are not able to compromise his or hers artistic vision, because Bioware wants that to be maintained.

Having worked with concept artists during the development of MEC, I know that armour is directly connected to the personality of the character.

Well Ashley can wear for Kaidan is wearing.

But if they want to make her wear light armor, then something like Liara.

For Kaidan? Something like Jacob can work. Jacob is also Sentinel( at least in ME Galaxy).

One which was counter-productive because it stripped them (mostly) of visual personality.

Really?

Ashley and Kaidan having Alliance standard outfit looks good while Liara does look good in science outfit.

Do I just don't get what you mean or what?

We were talking about Miranda, so I thought that it was relevant.

And I was saying that as a positive.

And since they did that to Miranda, why not with Ashley too? Only not wait for DLC but from start.

It's not a useless thread if it results in a useful response from the game designers.  As it apparently has.
