Do i need Mass Effect 1 installed in order for Mass Effect 2 to detect the Character save import.

I still have the saves from Mass Effect 1.

No just the save files in the correct folder so the game can find them.

Key guys, I have a problem. I start new game change setings and import data and then black hole comes. Nothing more nothing less

1) Please register the game on the forums. This is not an accusation, but given the spate of users with illegally downloaded copies coming to the forums asking for help, forum registration is the only way we can be sure we are dealing with a legit copy.
