We are all specultating why Cerberus has betrayed us. Some are mad at Bioware, Some are saying how they can't wait to kill TIM.

I was watching the Q&A that is up on the ME3 site and when they got to the mission with the Krogan VIP and Moridin, Liara asked a question about the Cerberus to which Sheperloo answered "They're indoctrinated. They're capable of anything."

I wonder if this was just for the demo's sake, or even if we will never hear this when ME3 comes out.

If this is canon, what do we make of it. Is it the whole organization, or just a cell. If you've read Retribution then it's really hard to think the reapers could get to TIM as his space station moves from star to star and what not. But in the same novel we see that even TIM can be a little reckless.

What do you think. Is this thread a waste of time:blush:, or does it change your speculation:wizard:.

Personally, I think that Indoctrination is a decent way to make Cerberus an enemy.

Since they're brainwashed, Pro-Cerberus people could point out that being an enemy of Shepard isn't actually their fault (therefore, it doesn't make them evil and could be argued to be tragic if one wanted to), while Anti-Cerberus people can see it as Cerberus failing to take precautions and having their experiments blowing up in their faces yet again..

The post is too general and how many pages.. This is a more focused post. Not saying better, just more focused.

I think it's a completely overdone and lazy way to make Cerberus an enemy.

It was overdone on the derelict Reaper and in Arrival. It is definitely overdone now.

Hopefully that line is just a red herring, maybe Sheppard has just assumed their sudden change of heart is due to indoctrination and the real reason will be revealed later.

I think bioware could be more imaginative than using the old indoctrination card. It's always been a pretty lazy and clumsy plot device.

I think one option not enough people are considering is there's something about Shepard we don't know. Cerberus seem pretty intent on taking him out in Mass effect 3 and the reapers have showen an unhealthy interest in Shep.

Still their fault either way. It goes beyond failing to take precautions because they are so well aware of indoctrination probabilitites going in. It would be totally careless to mess with reaper tech that they know indoctrinates.

But indoctrination is the reapers more nefarious weapons. Do not discount it. Bioware dosen't really do too well a job conveying how horrendous indoctrination could be. Think if you were in a bar with your friends when a glowing zombie runs at you, then your friends go insane and start attacking you as well.

This could be an early stage of the game though. It is possible Shepard did not know the full extent of what Cerberus was doing (as said above)
