Tweet from Casey Hudson a few minutes ago:

"Ashley will be able to have armor and a helmet in #ME3, as will others. We've only shown very little of the game so far."

Does this mean armour customisation?

In any event, more choices for squadmate armour is a good thing. Some people might appreciate the slimmer armour, others something with more bulk.

Completely expected, just like the fact for promo material purpose they would show her more attractive outfit. Everybody can relax.

Yay!

(cue 80 pages of defining the word "armor")

Called it months ago. People just love to jump their guns.

Probably the best news I've heard in a while. Thank you Casey (and the OP of course).

Cool, I guess. I wasn't too concerned to be honest. I mean, I liked being able to customize each of my party members' armor in ME1 (but I like all that menu and stat based RPGing elements that a lot of people here seems to think made the first ME1 bogged down) but I wasn't too hung up on the clothes Ash was wearing in the demo. I tend to not let things bother me like realistic feasibility and all that.

good, now elite midget will be a happy bunny (if that is even possible)
And maybe it will be like me2 where you have several outfits per character, or that there will be some squad armour customization.

What is his definition of "armor" is it what she has been shown wearing?

That was her Heavy Armor version, there will be lighter versions in game I assume.

I believe it means she'll have a range of "gear" available.

One of them might be the combat suit we saw in the demo. Another one might be heavier armour with a helmet, akin to the original Mass Effect's hardsuits.

Painted on pink bikini is the light version.

Hopefully the catsuit hate will go silent, at least for now :P

It's been confirmed that the catsuit is the only outfit she will wear during ME3.

Since Casey was obviously responding about the Ashley's catsuit complaints, I highly doubt it's the only outfit she will wear.

Good. Never really like that bimbo outfit, anyway.

I found her light armor acceptable, but this is really good news. I love Mass Effect's armor art, and I love heavy armor in general. It was the absolute best look for female Shepards and Ashley in ME1.

Thanks for listening to your fans, Bioware.

Good thing there is some variety in squadmates' armor this time, not just a different color tint.

I admit, I laughed out loud at this. Image IPB

Edit: And this news makes me happy. I'll be giving Ashley the bulkiest not-pink armor I can find.
