I'm glad to hear these news. If there was one thing that I thought was lacking in ME2 was squad armor customization. I hope they bring this up to a higher level, increasing how credible the squad as a whole is.

I think it should be a mix of ME 1 and 2.....you can go to the kiosks and buy the different parts for each of your characters. So like one shop would have a possible gauntlet set for humans. then have a pair grieves for Quarians....then maybe helmets for Turians and Krogans.

WHAT NO.  HER PERSONALITY WAS GOING TO CHANGE.

QUICK POST SOME PICTURES OF SHOES.

Of course she was going to have armor.  Yet another perfect example of how members of the Bioware social network can take the smallest bit of information and come to a completely insane and incorrect conclusion.

Okay, this thread is too long; didn't read most of it.

I hope so.  There are some serious entitlement issues and whining on these forums.

good, now elite midget will be a happy bunny (if that is even possible)

^ I lol'd.  I don't think that's possible.

I love Ash's ME3 hair.  The armor or lack therof isn't a dealbreaker for me, but I do prefer heavy armor whenever possible, as if my avatar wasn't proof enough.

I just hope that she doesn't put her hair back up in that burnt bun when wearing other outfits/armor. They did such a good job detailing her...assets this time around *drools without shame*.

Im skeptical aslo.  The catsuit she is wearing is emblazoned with the spectre symbol.  Why would Ash wear spectre gear to a formal trial.

I think the Alt. Appearance pack will have her armor and helmet  while her default armor in ME3 will like be the spectre catsuit

Are you serious?  If she's a Spectre why wouldn't she wear Spectre gear ANYWHERE?  It's not like Spectres are secret agents that aren't supposed to let people know they're Spectres.

I doubt they make spectre formal wear.
So I am guessing its her armor

Running around in spectre gear isn't the best way to work behind the scenes.

Are you implying that Squad Armor customization is equal to how Shepard's Armor customization is done? I'm led to believe that squad's outfit/armor are treated as pallete swops.

My Shepard is still a Spectre, unless I was drummed out for operating outside of the Terminus Systems or they revoked his priviliges thank to Arrival.

Why can't he wear Spectre formal wear?

NO. It was made pretty clear character redesigns are NOT changing. All Casey did was say there are also armor and helmet option as well as what we saw Ash in and other characters. The hair stays and whatever else they are adding/changing to the characters.

Especially if they know they are in for some heavy fighting

I thought they only made Spectre armor and weapons.

They are more diverse than I thought if they have Spectre formal wear, they must also make underwear, socks, beachwear, jewelry, hoodies, etc.Image IPB

Well, this post won't be limited to just her amour and apperance, since it was meant to be in the other lengthy topic where people raged not jsut about the amour, but how it reflects her personality and w/e (whether it was a reason or an excuse, I don't know).

Honestly I'm not suprise about the change ( if there is one ). In fact I would welcome it, a lot of characters in ME changed, and so far, they're more or less were all for the better. Some of the change was small, some of the change was significant.

- Garrus: he was one of the most boring character for me in ME, unless the quest require him, I never brought him along. But he became my most favorite sidekick in ME2. Joker said it right: "it looks like Garrus finally get the stick out of his ass, but now he wants to beat people to death with it", it was a radical change, but his character becomes much better for it.

- Tali: sure, she's sweet enough to make your teeth rot in the romance, but outside of the romance she radically changed from ME1 to ME2. She is more bossy, commanding, and fiery comparing to the reluctant and timit version in ME. Not saying it's bad, but it's a change in her character. If you take her to Anderson room in ME2, she'll make a comment on how she had changed from the time she was cornered when Shepared first met her.

- Liara: oh yeah, still remember the uproar when ME2 was just out, was it as bad as Ashley or about the same? Never a fan of Liara, but even when I paid little attention to her in ME, I still thought the change was a bit too radical. But now at the end of the ME2's life span, the change just makes sense really. The event in redemption, and then she will be going into ME3 as one of the most egnimatic figure of the universe (omited to avoid spoier for people who didn't play the DLC), it doesn't make sense for her to remain pure and naive like her first introduction.

- Jack: well, it's said that she will have some change because "one can only stay punk for so long".

So I won't be suprise to see some radical change in character (not just her look) in ME3. And there are too many of these around that I some how I think these changes are meant to be part of the overall story unless there are a lot of concidence in the writing. The thing is, the above changed made sense because we know what caused those change. I dont know what happened to Ashley, but she becomes a specter so something big must happened. I doubt they made her one because she was on Shepard team. Xenophobic no-nonsense whatever, that's before she boarded the Normandy. Priestly was as much a Xenophobic as Ashley, he changed.

And the people who argue on the "miranda #2" case doesn't make a lot of sense to me really. Since you guys are coming from the sex sell and sexist angle. It might be true, but if that's what you concern then why the look affect you that much? In my view, you're as much a sexist screaming about a woman in skimy cloth as a sexist enjoying a woman in the same cloth. Since if you're not you would be indifferent anyway. If I have no problem with a man without a shirt, I wouldn't have problem with a woman without a shirt. If I'm not yeilding my sit to a guy, I won't be yeilding my sit to a girl. Not the most popular way to carry yourself, but even the best lawyer can't accuse you being a sexist. Image IPB

And @the_one, yes she still looks a lot like the old Ashley, and yes hair style (especially between long and short) can drastically change how a person look. I knew one girl who was in the same classes with me for 4 years in midschool and in my country this mean I met her every single day except Sunday all those year. She always keep her hair up from 6th-8th grade, then sunddely at the beginning at the 9th grade she let her hair down and holy crap, I "almost" didn't recognize her. Image IPB

Tweet from Casey Hudson a few minutes ago:

"Ashley will be able to have armor and a helmet in #ME3, as will others. We've only shown very little of the game so far."

Does this mean armour customisation?

In any event, more choices for squadmate armour is a good thing. Some people might appreciate the slimmer armour, others something with more bulk.

Very happy to hear this. I was kind of worried that Ashley would be Mirandafied. Yay for character consistency :)

Hey, at least the part about the helmet isn't ambiguous! :wizard:

Maybe it's a mini Shepard N7 Helmet souvenir from the Citadel. Worn like a necklace. You press a small button on the underside and it says "my name is CDR Shepard and this is my favorite helmet in the universe - brought to you by Aldrin Laboratories Incorporated; Luna, Sol."

Would be kinda emberassing if the Council's elite killing machines ran around wearing mismatched socks ;)

Yeah. Well, that's at least what I'm expecting (more like hoping for).
Having ME2 Shepard's Armor/Outfit customization applied to all squad elements on ME3 would be a plus in my opinion. That includes "universal" armor parts for your squad (helmet, chest, shoulders, arms and legs) that could be worn by various team members at the same time as long as they met the "species requirements" (a krogan couldn't wear a salarian armor and vice-versa), this would bring the experience closer to the original ME and imo make it more belieavable.
It could also include casual wear which would be unique for each member.

If this is handled the same way as Miranda's Cerberus armour in Alternate Appearance Pack 2, then great. Really liked how she got a proper change of outfit, as opposed to yet another palette-swap.

Indeed, I hope this is the standard for ME3's outfits - different models for each different outfit. If they include options such as helmet on/off toggling, then even better!

IMO, there's no such this as 'too many' options or choices, especially in an RPG setting. Or as one work colleague put it:

"Who says 'less is more', anyway? Makes no sense. Y'see, back in the days of our earliest, cave-dwelling ancestors, when Stig and Ogg were hammering out rudiments of what would become our language system, they had the brilliant idea of creating separate words for 'less' and 'more'. So surely, 'less' is 'less', and 'more' is 'more'..."

Less may not be more in many ways when it comes to games, but more tends to take more time, effort, and money. It would be wonderful if all companions had multiple unique models as their clothing and armour, and better still if their armour was customisable to the degree that Shepard's is. But that would take a huge amount of time and effort that could easily be put into other aspects of the game. I would be more than delighted with one set of armour and casual clothes for each squaddie, with possible reskins for appearance variation. A good reskin can be a work of art in its own right.
