Alliance, naturally. Cerberus are a bunch of losers who obviously hate their own species given how many humans they have tortured and killed over the years. How anyone can side with their organization just because the Lazarus Cell were decent people and helped Shepard get the job done is beyond me.

Martin f*cking Sheen!

That's why!

Cerberus works for itself, not for humans, indeed.

Hell no. After Shep died, they dragged his name through the mud with regards to the reapers while simultaneously using him for everything from recruitment to advertising sports drinks. No way I'd be loyal to a group that treats me like that.

I'm yet to decide if I'll ally with the Alliance in ME3. I'll probably stick with my squadmates and no one else.

Post Mass Effect 2, all my Shepard's are effectively freelance agents. Pretty much bounty hunters with some allegiances. I only need the Shadow Broker for Intel and if Liara dies (I'll destroy the base) or the base itself is destroyed then I'll retire and disappear from public view. No thank you Admiral Hacket! I don't want medals or statues after how the Alliance treated me and my crew!

In stuff like this with alien races, I never do like the humans.

In this case, I'm pro Asari.

I'm kinda surprised by the answers here. My Shep's faithful to his homeworld.

I'm actually very wary of the Alliance- social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/7375590
This is one of my reasons for not trusting them.

Still they are at least working to fight the reapers (at last), so I'll fight for them in ME3. Still I'm far from trusting them, especially when a lot of them wanted to capture and interrogate Shepard in ME2 (see Shadow Broker Dossiers).

My main Shepard is an ally of many groups but loyal to none.

Nope. After everything I've seen, I want them done as a galactic power. They're first on my list of expendable allies.

If I had to choose between the Alliance and Cerberus, I'd pick the Alliance. But I wouldn't be as long to them as I was when I first place ME.

It's not that simple. Cerberus is the Alliance. <cue epic Mass Effect evil plot twist music>

Agreed! Especially the last part.
I spent ME1 killing them off, including dr. wayne (Saving Tooms) & told the SB to ****** off on Nepheron. I still don't trust them in ME2 (railroaded), but I was not asked nor given the option. And now in ME2 I have Zaeed (he lost count after killing 50+ Cerberus agents) and Jack who wants to finish the job! So getting to wipe out Cerberus in ME3 suits me just fine.

Too bad you still trust Cerberus when they want to kill Shepard in ME3.
At least Alliance tried to defend the Earth as stated in Live Action trailer, too bad entire Alliance fleet has been obliterated. Cerberus cowered against thgem and helped attack Galactic civilisations.Reapers. Bunch of ****s!

My Colonist Paragon is loyal to the Alliance, as it represents the legitimate, democratic voice of humanity in space. She doesn't agree with everything they've done, but she is also patient enough to understand that bureaucracies in any representative government will have conflict and inefficiencies that don't always work towards the greater good, and accepts this as part of the trade off of the freedoms of a Republic. It's also why she felt justified in using Cerberus to help those human colonies, but she always intended to rat them out when she returned to the Alliance (she sent them all that Cerberus data), as they are a terrorist organization whose methods cheapen and sabotage the positive efforts of the Alliance and humanity in general.

My Spacer Renegade believes all governments to be inherently corrupt and ineffectual (humans slightly better because they're at least human). Raised from childhood to be an Alliance soldier, she respects strength and believes that the freedom of the individual is more powerful than any organization or government. She believes that strong individuals and competence, not rules or policies, will protect humanity. She is still somewhat loyal to the Alliance in as much as it represents humanity to the 'common' man, just as she is somewhat loyal to Cerberus as a pro-human organization, but is ultimately only loyal to herself and the ideal of humanity.

As for me personally? It's a fictional world in a role playing game. I much prefer to make judgements from my character's eyes.

Yes and no. I feel like Shepard might take an early retirement once this whole thing is over and done with.

Quite a logical thing to me after seeing many people state their trust in Cerberus and calling Alliance fans loyalists. I may be wrong though.

I myself have nothing against the Alliance, but I try to RP my Sheps, so whether or not he/she is "loyal" to the Alliance depends on how I defined his/her character... I have a fair number of loyalist, but also a fair number of neutrals or of "Cerberus Supporters", depends on the Shep...

Antivenger wrote...

Human loyalist. Cerberus too extreme. Alliance only alternative choice.

Therefore;

Systems Alliance Staff Commander Robert Shepard, reporting for duty.

Shep is Lieutenant Commander, he/she never reached the rank of Staff Commander, but if you did what I think you did then I approve of the highlighted part completely: it's pretty high time Shep gets a promotion, especially after all he/she has done...

I mean the VS gets promoted and Shep doesn't? I know they call him Commander Shepard, so I'm not saying make him/her "Captain" or "Admiral", but at least moving him/her up to "Staff Commander" from "Lieutenant Commander" won't change how he/she is called and shows some apreciation for what he/she did!
Kaidan jumped up TWO ranks (from Staff Lieutenant to Staff Commander) and Shep is incapable of moving up one?

BTW, for those interested... Yes, that means that from the Alliance point of view Kaidan now outranks Shepard...

To be honest,I have a feeling I can't trust any organization in ME:

1. Cerberus is too extreme, and TIM betrays anyone who he doesn't need
2. Alliance already betrayed Shepard, dismissing everything he stood for
3. Council is just a bunch of politicians, blind and stupid

I'm pissed off at Hackett for a number of reasons, not least that he protestors off scott free when they tried to extinguish a war memorial to shepard. Cerberus seems more my style, as long as the continue to play out like they were portrayed in ME2

The only Alliance personnel my Shepard respects is Anderson and Hackett. Other than that, he's a freelancer and trusts only the people that were there for him. The Virmire Survivor isn't among them.
