Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I haven't seen the thread.
So when you give her the Rivaini Talisman, she says something along the lines of "you either have a healthy womb or you don't" with her turning away from Hawke and sounding a bit depressed, as if she doesn't have a healthy womb. Also when Aveline says "Who's the father?", she seems to take a huge amount of offence. And... i had another point, but I've forgotten it.
So what does everyone else think? If it has already been confirmed whether or not she is, please tell me.
Is Isabela infertile?

There is some mention of her being barren in the wiki, but I think that may just be conjecture. After Hawke gives Isabela the talisman, she does comment on its use as something to ensure a fertile womb, but she also says that Rivaini women wear them when they are looking for love. It's during that second bit where she seems wistful. So, personally, I always took that exchange to mean she was uneasy about matters of the heart and not about bearing children.
As for Aveline's comment, I think that's more of a sound ribbing on Isabela's liaisons. And given when the comment is made (when Isabela is trying to get Hawke to go after the relic), the indignation probably stems more from impatience than the words actually touching a nerve.

I think it is likely. Though considering that this is a world where there is a potion for any problem she may just have regular access to some kind of magical or herbal birth control.

I'd bet on it. Most bioware romances always have an unlikely chance of producing a child, or no chance at all. Lore reason to save the designers from making children I guess.

She's not barren.

You have the same evidence everyone else does, OP, your guess is as good as anybody else's. Unless it's specifically mentioned in-game, we just don't know. Personally I think people are reading too much into these things, and I think [Bioware guy (maybe David)] said the same, but I don't remember where and wouldn't know where to find it. I'll look for it, but for now it's just guesses.

You're thinking of Sheryl, nerdage. I believe she responded to a previous topic about this.

The image of Isabela seeming wistful at the idea of not being able to have children is odd. It's like seeing Varric wax his chest hair or Fenris giggling.

I don't know that the lack of children running around Thedas, particularly around the main characters of DA:O or DA2, is proof of someone being barren or infertile. There are plenty of methods that can be implemented to prevent pregnancy - I would imagine that applies in the DA world as well. And while it may be a save on the part of the game designers, it might also be just logical plot framing for the various character story arcs. It's a lot easier to rush out into battle against the darkspawn without having to fret about getting a sitter.

That's what I always assumed, too.

There is one child, depending your decision in Origins, but ... that is a unique case
Isabella as a mother, now that is an interesting thought. About as unlikely as Morrigan being a mother, but hey it's a crazy world .. haha
