This little idea I have revolves around the geth/quarian conflict.
Instead of giving the player a choice that would patch up things quickly between the two species, Shepard has to help the Quarians destroy the geth or help the geth destroy the Quarians. The war between the two sides is already under way, so no negotiations are possible.
Tali and Legion are on the Normandy. Each hopes that Shepard will help their side, and are basically hostile against one another.
For example, Shepard can help the geth, but this elicits a hostile response from Tali. She points her gun at Shepard, threatening him/her, and declare Shepard's aid to the geth an act of genocide against her people. Unwilling to see this happen, she attempts to kill Shepard in her rage. Shepard and Legion fire back, killing the young Quarian machinist.
Idea: Killing Tali or Legion.

From what we've seen, I really doubt this will happen. If anything, we'll probably have to choose between the Quarian admirals.

This wouldn't happen. In a full-on reaper invasion, nobody is going to be stupid enough to erupt into a full-scale war of genocide.

There always is a neutral option. No matter how hard it will be, I will try to choose both of them.

I can't really see that happening for various reasons, the most pressing being the idea of Tali pulling a gun on Shepard is absurd.
Still, if it came down to it, I take the Quarians. Put that thing out the airlock.

Legion > Tali
Picking the Geth is a much more efficient and worthwhile choice.

As a generally nice guy and paragon player (and fan of both characters) that would be a severely annoying choice...

For me its down to selfishness My Shep stand for the Geths as a sentient race. But if it came down to what your saying he would go with tali all the way since she is his love.

I think both Tali and Garrus should be announced dead from STD's in ME3's prologue. I don't know if it's just the obsession that most have with them, but I find both of them pretty meh/annoying.
But I still need the goddamn paragon points >.<

Yeah, I don't think Bioware would ever write that happening but if it came to Shepard choosing the Geth and forsaking the Quarians, I think she would.
Her loyalty to the Migrant Fleet is the trait I respect most about her.

This is something I thought about as well. It would be very dramatic if we had to choose between the geth or the quarians. Even if I'm a paragon I'd side with the geth because they're probably more powerful and have more knowledge of the Reapers.

Yeah...
From E3 Demo's with saw Quarian Admirals talking with Legion on flotilla.
OH and BTW Geth do NOT want death to Quarians.
Why would they need to destroy them?

you could say the same for Mordin or Grunt/Wrez. Salarians or Krogan. Grunt would default follow clan urdnot which could be against the Salarians and Mordin.

I'd pick Tali. Legion's one of my favorite squad mates.

Personally I'm "emotionally" attached enough to the quarians/geth situation for it to be a hard choice even without sacrificing a major character.
Also there's no point in a war. The quarians mostly want their homeworld back. The geth live not on the surface but in space stations. Whats there to fight about?
The only trouble on the horizon is mutual trust and admiral xen.
EDIT/PS.
Who and what is "Rael Shepard nar Normandy"?

For the sake of the internet plase no lol. Anyone who doesn't like Tali and/or Garrus can easily fix the problem in SM so they won't come backWarheadz wrote...

This already happened in Mass Effect 2. I sincerely hope having Legion chat with Tali as well what amount to the leaders of the Quarian People will have some effect in Mass Effect 3. Also, remember that Legion represents all true Geth. I wouldn't be surprised if you play your cards right to see the Quarian Flotilla get attacked by a Reaper then Suddenly hundreds of Geth ships warp in and swarm attack the Reaper.
Random Quarian: OMG! WHAT ARE THE GETH DOING HERE?
Legion: *putting on a black monocle* Backup.
Oh and guest appearance by Bender from Futurama please! Call him an experimental platform.
EDIT:
Legion aslo says that they essentialy played Garbage Men and cleaned up the homeworld. They live on space platforms in Orbit. The problem is that the Geth believe that Quarians want to destroy them all. They don't want the planet.

It wouldn't make sense for the people that solved their conflict in ME2 with the blue and red options, they seemed to have cooperated then.
