Cerberus AI on a ship that now belongs to the Alliance.
Possible memory wipe and recoding by the alliance so EDI is now an alliance AI?

Doubt EDI is 'Cerberus AI' anymore. Possible memory wipe of Cerberus data? Not after the Alliance takes said data and analyzes it.

EDI is EDI, she works for Shep/Joker. She doesn't seem to be particularly attached to large groups. She limits herself to help the crew and that's an interesting choice from an AI. I'm more interested in how she'll engage with the Reapers.

She gets put into the mechdog and becomes a squademate, or upgradeable power like Dragon Age 2's dog.

Desperate times call for desperate measure. Given Shepard's ties to either Cerberus or the Alliance (whichever you're roleplaying your Shepard's loyalty to) I highly doubt they'd tamper with Edi given her, I dare say, incredible contribution to Shepard's success in ME2.

All her restrictions got unlocked thanks to Joker's actions, so I don't think there is a need for any memory wipes or such. I would believe she is loyal to Shepard, Joker and the Normandy crew -- not Cerberus.

An illegal AI who is loyal to members of a former terrorist cell, and whose Commander is on trial for genocide? Yeah the Alliance would totally leave EDI alone.

She could always pretend to be a VI.

Alliance Official: Why does this room say AI Core?
EDI: Hello. I Am EDI. That is a misprint. The A is an upside down V
Alliance Official: Yep! That's a VI all right
EDI: *phew!*

Much of the success against the Collectors can be attributed to EDI and with a galactic war around the corner it would be plain stupid for the Alliance or Council to start yapping about AI laws now. The galaxy needs all the help they can get and EDI is a BIG help.

Depends on a person investigating the Normandy. If it will be someone like Udina, my vote for "completely erased" - but since I've heard Tricia Helfer in demos from E3, I'd say Alliance have decided to wait.

Joker and EDI made a great team. Provided great comedic relief. I would be sadden if EDI is gone.

Except the Alliance starts reworking  the Normandy before the Reaper invasion, so they would have no qualms about dealing with EDI. You're also working under the assumption that the Alliance actually knows about all the useful things EDI has done when they probably don't. Bioware will probably justify EDI still being herself by saying that the Alliance didn't have time to do anything with her before the attack, but I could also see them giving her a memory wipe, and having Shepard, Joker, and others having to deal with that over the course of the game.

I doubt the Alliance could find her, even if they knew to look for her. Obviously Shep couldn't turn over the SR-2 without making arrangements for several members of the crew first, including EDI. Thane is an assassin. Jacob, Miranda, Kelly, Chawkwas, and Joker are terrorists. Legion is...Legion. Jack is a pirate. Samara is a walking intergalactic incident. Kasumi is a wanted theif. Zaeed, Grunt, Tali, and Garrus are the only crew members that could walk if the SR-2 were to be released to the Alliance with the whole crew on board.

If an alliance goon tries to analyse EDI and/or take her apart, EDI will just take off with the ship and leave the doors open. Problem solved, nosey alliance... Keep your hands of MY (yes Shepard's) ship. :pinched: (What, you didn't think the ship belongs to the alliance now did you?)

Besides, EDI is an AI, I'm not even sure it's possible to wipe the memory of an AI like you can do with a VI. Not much is known about them after all.

You can't just wipe an AI's memory in Mass Effect...that would destroy the AI's personality. They have to be 'taught' how to process certain types of information so to speak, and started at a low clock speed gradually increasing. An AI like EDI is not as simple as a desktop computer which you can just up or downgrade at will, adding hardware and taking it away.

An AI's personality can be erased and changed if you move it from one "blue box," the specialized computer that AIs require to run, to another.

That seems unlikely to happen in the short ammount of time between Arrival and ME3

The Alliance makes some changes to the Normandy while Shepard is on trial.

EDI was just a voice and a blinking light....and I STILL liked her more as a character than some of the squad mates. I will be very disappointed if EDI is removed for ME3.

She was in one of the gameplay trailers so I'm guessing we'll get to keep her.

She'll receive a sexy platform/body/projection while maintaining a connection to the Normandy's systems.

She'll continue 'teasing' Joker and the two eventually become romantically involved. lol.(only half kidding)

One of the demo scenes has Joker and her talking to Shepard while he's out in the field.

So no worrys, she's still back.
